For me, tacos are a street art and this place hits the mark. No frills. Well-seasoned. Excellent variety of in-house salsas. ... I'm a self-proclaimed taco connoisseur raised in the Southwest and Homemade has maybe the best tacos in the north BK area. Yes,I've been to Ramirez and Oxomocco. They're fine... and pricey. I don't really mess with bespoke tacos. If it's the rightproportion of grease to fresca, fast service, generous portions, good salsas, and Mexican radio you're after, Homemade isprobably for you. A very cozy place. The food has that authentic mexican flavor. They have only soft traditional corn tacos. They are so tasty. My... favorite ones are the birria and al pastor! The food from here is everything you could want in a local taco spot - authentic, well seasoned, great portions, and the service... is top notch and homey. I couldn't decide what sounded better so I got a taco assortment - al pastor, shrimp, steak, chicken andveggie for my hubs who is vegetarian. The flavor? Unmatched. I couldn't decide if my personal fav was the steak or the shrimp;both were so well seasoned that I seriously considered asking if I could buy the pre-seasoned meat in bulk so I can freeze itand have whenever I want. It's that damn good. Bonus points for the shrimp taco being nice and full - happy to see more thanjust 3-4 shrimp in a tortilla. I love supporting local businesses, so definitely hit them up! Went with my friends to pick up Tacos for taco Tuesday. unfortunately to my big disappointment they didn?t have corn tacos and... since I am gluten free I had to look for something else in the menu. I got 2 corn quesadillas - one with beef and one withchicken and it was just ok. Nothing exciting. The second disappointment was the guac and chip. The guac was lack of taste -salt/ lemon/ anything . And I think it was the first time that is a a group didn?t finish it. Read more
Ordered delivery and I received tacos that were just a tortilla and meat, all five of them. How does a taqueria mess up five... simple tacos? I also noted I only need three sauces total but they gave me seven. A waste of food and packing. Clearly whoeverwas working wasn?t really paying attention I tried calling them and they didn?t answer. I called again the next day and thewoman on the phone didn?t understand what I was saying, we spoke for several mins and she just didn?t understand what I meant?She couldn?t help me at all. She said she?d speak with her manager and that I should call back in 20 mins. I did and no oneanswered. I don?t have time for this so I gave up but it?s ridiculous. The tortilla and the meat were fine I guess. Nothingspecial but edible. I don?t think I?ve ever had a taco spot mess up tacos. And hey ok, it happens. But the customer service wasawful.
