Reviews for Insa in Brooklyn, NY

Insa is a Korean BBQ restaurant that is conveniently located for those of us who live in Brooklyn and don’t want to travel to... K-town, Flushing, or Palisades Park for kbbq. Though, I would say it is worth it to travel to the above listed places for goodquality korean bbq. My partner and I shared the pajeon which was lacking adequate green onions. It was also quite thick, notlike the traditionally thin pajeon. We split a bottle of makgeolli which was delicious but 3x the price of the bottle boughtfrom the actual shop in Brooklyn. The banchans were decent. They did continuously resupply us with more when we finishedthem. As for the barbecue itself, meat is always good. Our server, however, seemed to be unsure of how to properly execute theact of barbecuing. It was good, nonetheless, just slightly painful to watch him unsteadily flip the steak time and timeagain. Overall, it was decent. I would choose to go to other Korean bbq restaurants in the future over this one, though. Gladto have tried it. It seems like they are more popular for their bar and karaoke rooms which I did not experience. Read more

Great walk-in experience and great food When we arrived we were told they were full and we could wait by the bar. The Bartender... was very kind and had great recommendations. You can order food at the bar so it’s not wasted time at all. We also waited only15 minutes before being seated, before our first dish came out The bbq is plenty and delicious. Would recommend their MP/perpound meats Read more

We had a great time here! Food was mostly delicious, but definitely get the pancakes. Those were a hit with everyone! We wanted... vegetables with all the meat we ordered, so we got asparagus, but those were disappointing since they were covered in a red BBQsauce. We then went karaoke singing. Compared to other karaoke bars I've been to, these rooms were spacious and clean! Thesystem is also very easy to use. Highly recommend for date night or a fun night out with friends! Read more

Although I didn’t order Korean BBQ, I sat in the bar area and it’s a beautiful setting!! The red tree really creates a... smooth ambiance. Even the Korean BBQ tables looked super sleek and I would totally consider having a birthday here. I came hereto find legit bibimbap - ya know, the whole stone vessel that keeps the food warm and the rice at the bottom crunchy. Theelements were delicious, fresh, and the flavors on point. They didn’t do the whole egg presentation thing like they do inother countries, but I’m sure there’s good reason haha. It wasn’t a deal breaker - I still got my egg on top ???? Thepork rinds were fine. Good seasoning. Crunchy. Nothing super special, but it met my expectations (in a good way). NOTE ??Careful of the kimchi drink. It’s like drinking straight up kimchi. Not my personal favorite and it was a lot to handle.Otherwise! The other drinks were good. I’d definitely come back! Read more

Where else but the Gowanus would you be able to build this roomy dining room for inset grilling, and adjoining cocktail lounge?... Celebrated many a birthday here, since the menu and tables are perfect for group dining. You can also end with drinks andkaraoke in the private back rooms after. The list for the grill is briefer than KTown, but you’ll be satisfied. The Galbi istender and savory. Pork belly grilled then dipped in soy paste is also umami punch. Loved that in addition to lettuce leaf, there were shiso (?) leaves for wrapping, which lent an herby touch. Pajeon here is my favorite over other places - light andcrispy texture but chewy too. Before heading back out into the humid night, we dived into a bright cooling bowl of hibiscusbingsu- granita texture with a circus of other garnishes! Read more
