Reviews for Milk & Roses in Brooklyn, NY

This is the most adorable little spot! Actually it's not little as they have a huge backyard/ garden area. But when you walk in... the entrance is snug, with a wooden piano and rows and rows of ancient books. We popped in for a cocktail and they greeted uswarmly and sat us at the bar. The cocktails are properly created. The "Filthy Rich" was perfect combination of sweet and singlemalt whiskey, great on a chilly, wet fall evening. The "Milk & Roses" is light, sweet and pink! Delicious and would taste greaton a warm summers eve. The food menu looked incredible - pastas and salads, today are color coordinated apparently. Manythoughtful details makes this such an excellent local spot. Cash Only! Enjoy Read more

This local eatery is absolutely beautiful! It has a picturesque backyard. The drinks are very good. However, my complaints are... that the food (except the dessert) is not very good & the service is very slow. It seems they do not have enough waitstaff. Wewere a party of 10 & it took almost 2 hours to receive our entrees. I would highly recommend this place for drinks & dessert butnot for a whole meal. It is also a bit expensive. ($16-$18 for a drink). Also CASH only. Come prepared or there is an ATM thatwill charge you a fee. Read more

What a lovely place! Had a small book club meetup here for brunch and had the best experience. The place exudes warmth and... intimacy. Food came out in a good amount of time, our server was attentive and kind ( Daniella), and the food decent. I reallyliked the fresh juice ( orange and blood orange blend) and the cider. Delicious!!! My bacon was perfectly cooked and eggsfluffy. The food is regular but fresh and the decor is absolutely beautiful. Read more

One of the BEST backyard spaces in Brooklyn. Good for a date or a group, and the food is really great. Both the Salmon Tartare &... the Shakshuka are worth it. You will want more bread! The people who work here are great. 1 hour of Unlimited Mimosas is $18with food. But if that's not your mood, just get there early & you won't have to endure the full mimosa rush around you. We went here for brunch over and our secondary motive was also to scout this place for our 2 year olds birthday. Their backyard... seating area pictures very well and looks very interesting and inviting in picture. Sadly, it all ends there. We went with the$20 Unlimited Mimosa option (60 mins) along with a breakfast item purchase which included Beetroot Salad ($16), Mint Salad($16), Shakshuka ($18), and Smoked Salmon Roll up ($18). The outdoor seating are has comfortable seating although we wereconstantly getting bit by bugs in the backyard. Thankfully, they also supplied complimentary bug spray which we found lying onanother table. Service is ok and we usually expect attentive servers with the unlimited booze options which wasn't the case. Wehad to flag down our servers 2 times, which they obviously did not appreciate! Food was just ok - nothing great about it.Smoked Salmon was unfortunately the saltiest thing on our order and my friend could not finish the salmon. There was alsoautomatic gratuity of 20% on a table of 4, and this is a cash only place, which was further more disappointing. We had arelatively drama free experience, which wasn't really memorable.
