I used to come here for the soup but this morning after a week of it being closed, before I take a bite, this I what I find in... my soup. MELTING POT NEEDS A TEAM MEETING! I couldn't find the restaurant on my google search. I happen to stumbled on the place. This... enclave is not a west Indian community, which should let them standout amongst all the other food vendors in the area. I gavethem 3-stars for presentation, cashless options and customer service. The food is cooked right, it looks like Jamaica food butsomething is missing. The course of the meals is usually light, which explains the surroundings Hispanic community. So this is the only Caribbean restaurant in the area so I was very excited when they first opened up. From the very first meal I... was disappointed but I continued to support. Again and again I tried their food taking into consideration its a new business.For me the food isn't authentic Jamaican food. Most of what I tried was oily. There were labels in my food! They seemed to not take the labels off the peppers... did they even wash the peppers? I imagine... you would take the labels off when washed...!?!? First off great customer service. No complaints, the cashiers were really nice and attentive. But the food was sorry to say... absolutely terrible. Ordered the jerk chicken and it looked like it wasn't cleaned or prepped prior to cooking, just fat andgunk everywhere. Won't be going back. Hopefully other people had better experiences with the food. Read more
I enjoyed my breakfast ackee, saltfish dumplings,yams and a side of callaloo then I washed it all down with some fresh Sorrel.
I'll never eat here again but I found an authentic Jamaican restaurant 896 Broadway a few blocks down and the food is worth my... money you won't get spoiled food or bugs in you food either. Read more
