Food was beyond amazing. I’ve walked past this place so many times it’s the best Thai food I’ve had in a while. Blows... every place I’ve been to out of the water. I ordered set A lunch special, fried chicken with the spicy papaya salad and stickyrice it was AMAZING !!!!! Everything was delicious. Service was fast and efficient. Found my new lunch spot. The only thing Ididn’t like was the rice was rolled up in plastic wrap. I think it could be done without the wrap and just put it in a bowlthe plastic isn’t very eco friendly or necessary. Read more

As a vegetarian, I can't comment on how this place measures up regarding meat dishes. There were very little vegetarian options.... I ended up eating fried rice and noodles which was very bland. Even the tofu is made of eggs. They were not very open to makingsubstitutions, or making accommodations for a vegetarian. There are no vegetable spring rolls. The service is decent, but notgreat. The papaya salad is really good though. Read more

Excellent food, we visited during the week night and there was space for us to sit. The food came very quickly and the drinks... (martini was good) as well. Ordered the papaya salad spicy (and it was spicy) plus regular pad Thai and a shrimp dish (nonspicy) for kids. The noodles were great and we look forward to coming back here post another IKEA trip. Highly recommend !! Read more

Last night I had a little Thai food withdrawal, I had to have a dose of Thai heat to cool me off. Som Tum; the Thai Green... Papaya salad with its refreshing hotness is one of my new favorites. I thought that I couldn’t do better then order it from arestaurant that is actually named after that Thai wonder; Somtum Der. I ordered the Green Papaya Salad with salted eggs. Sohow was the salad: it definitely punched some heat and hit the spot. Was it that different then the papaya salads I recentlyhad at other Thai restaurants ? I am not really sure. It definitely didn’t airlifted me instantly to the northern part ofthis amazing kingdom. ??????? Read more

I went to Somtum Der in lower east a few time but it's a bit far to travel for me. I am so glad they open a branch in Brooklyn.... It's so easy to find parking there and less crowded. I went on Friday night at 815pm and the restaurant was full but luckilyseat was available very shortly as people were leaving. They do take reservation so it's highly recommended. The must try andvery authentic dish is papaya salad. We all liked it very much. And the rest of the food were very delicious too. We will goback again for the papaya salad and try other stuff too although there aren't many selections on the menu. Yum yum ???? Read more
