I went here with my uncle. We're Chinese and I wanted to spice up his life, so we went to this lovely little restaurant in 5th.... I liked the red and black design. I also liked that they played music (I heard some Bad Bunny). My Uncle had the salmon, vegetables and rice (he's Chinese -- he loves rice) and I had 3 tacos. I loved my food and my uncle, who has never eaten Mexicanfood before, cleaned his entire plate. The bill was quite low. Im from Honolulu, so Im used to paying $30 each for worse Mexicanfood. I finally found a Mexican restaurant on 5th that serves up an amazing salmon plate! Definitely a modern take on the common... Mexican dishes you can find at every other restaurant on 5th so I’m super, super thankful for that! Love the new look(storefront has a new logo). The service was also great! The waitress welcomed us with a warm smile and was super attentive.Something you don’t get too often nowadays so definitely appreciated. This is a little gem in Sunset and I think it’s verysmart of them to differentiate themselves by creating a unique menu that still uses traditional Mexican cuisine ingredients. Ididn’t try their cocktails but I’m excited to go back and check them out. Like the food menu, they have creative cocktailchoices (plenty mezcal - my favorite). Still thinking about that dinner. One of our favorite Mexican restaurants in our hood. Both dine in and delivery experiences are satisfying. Service is great.

Third time coming back to this little gem in sunset park. What really hits the ball in the park are the great flavors in the... food. First time we came we had some tacos, a quesadilla and a chicken in a mole sauce followed by churro a la mode. The secondtime we came was for the valentine day special course. And today we came for tacos, a quesadilla and a burrito. Each time theservice was fantastic and the food. The draw on this place has got me hooked. Read more

MÉXICO ???????? Eat the World NYC review: That first time you walk by a machetes vendor in Mexico City, and especially Los... Machetes Amparito in Colonia Guerrero, it is an eye-popping experience that demands sitting down immediately no matter howhungry you happen to be. That 55 year old institution cooks and displays its colossal machetes, up to 70 cm (over two feet) inlength right up front for all passersby to see and smell. Machetes are similar and evolved from quesadillas, but kept thin andextruded to sometimes crazy length beginning to resemble the blade of their namesake. In Mexico City, their birthplace andreally the only place they remain common, they are always made of a corn tortilla and often filled with stewed meats calledguisados. White Oaxacan cheese works not only to round out the tastes, but to keep it all together. The oblong handmade corntortilla found here at Tres Chivos, a slim little restaurant in Sunset Park that otherwise does not stand out from the crowd, clocks in below 40 cm but it is still the only version in town. For $8, it is a real bargain as it can almost satisfy two hungrybellies. It has a nice ball of guacamole served on top it, is accompanied by a salad, and can be ordered with tinga, chorizo, orcarne asada. Read more
