I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday for 20 people and mentioned that in the reservation, but last minute the they... told me they don’t except cake for special occasions from outside . As if they already have patisserie in Huston that i am notordering from . Mediocre. I ordered calamari as appetizer. The spicy sauce with pepper I personally found it did not blend in with the calamari.... They were as if you put 2 different things on the same dish. The calamari did not taste bad but I could not find itflavourful. Me and my son both ordered the 12oz new York cut. We asked for medium rare. It turned out my son's was medium andmine was medium well. Because we had already waited for 1 hour since we placed order (the restaurant was about 70% full at7:30pm) we did not bother to wait again and return them. Apart from the inaccurate cook level our sauce was swapped (minormistake). The steak itself is ok but far from what the menu described as tendered and flavorful. The puree Houston was nothingbut just ordinary mash potato. The sweet fries were good though. Crunchy and thin outside and soft inside. Service wise is ok.I could not put any comment. Went to Houston's with a party of 24 tonight and, based on service delivered to me, my experience was extremely... disappointing. I arrived later than the majority of the group, at 7:15, but they were all seated tightly around two tablesalready. There was just enough space for myself and my partner to squeeze in as well. I was happy to see a waiter came byfairly quickly to see if we wanted drinks, and to take the children's orders for food. One of the party wanted to place theirentree order at that time, but they were told that the kids' orders were going in first. That's fine! No problem. From then on,it was a waiting game. It took around 30 minutes for the kids' food to come out. After that, it took another half an hour forthe adult entree orders to be taken. By now, it's around 8:30 and everyone is ravenous. Our entrees collectively came outaround 9:30, following a slow trickle of appetizers, which not many people ordered, and the kids' desserts. The delivery of theentrees was inconsistent and messy, with servers not knowing where to hand out plates. I figured they would have a system to dothis, and no one in the party was swapping seats, but no big deal! We tried to help them send the food to the right place and itgot there in the end. I ordered a Bacon & Cheddar Burger with skinny fries, and it was disappointing to realize that the kids'fries has been seasoned better than mine were. Comparatively, mine were bland and tasteless. My top bun was also cracked (seethe picture) while the bottom bun was soggy, telling me that my food had been sitting ready for a while. The burger was averageat best, tasteless if I'm honest. Nice place. I ordered the prime rib. It has been a long time since I have had this in a restaurant. I was satisfied but not... wowed. My work colleagues ordered the tartar trio of beef, salmon and tune. That plate was delicious. Service was friendly andgood. Read more
