Great place. Definitely old school here. Our waitress made everyone feel at home. Most of the people there appeared to be... regulars. Food was fantastic. The roast beef is the thing to get here. Portion sizes are large. The only downside I felt wasthe pricing. Even though the portions are decent expect to pay for it. Would only come here for special occasions. Read more

Excellent atmosphere, excellent food. Top 5 roast beef in Buffalo. German potato salad is killer. Pickeld beets? Who has... pickled beets these days?? The history is hanging on the walls. Awesome. But if you are like me and hate the dog days ofsummer, it might be best to wait until fall, as there is no AC. Or it was broken. Because it was uncomfortable inside on a 90degree day in August. This establishment?s outgoing voicemail states that the last seating takes place at 7:15pm. Yet they indicate on Google Map that... they close at 8pm. The sign on their door also indicates that they close at 8pm. When I arrived at 7:40pm, after a 20 minutedrive across Buffalo, I found their front door locked. Apparently this establishment does not care much about their customer?stime! Schwabl?s is also the first establishment I?ve ever encountered that charges for tap water. We got the Beef on Weck and it was amazing. The German potato sale was warm and sooooooo goo, along with the slaw. We saw this... place on the travel channel and looked it up and are so happy we did. Lots of history with the Schwabl family! Well worth thedetour! Read more
Excellent Roast Beef on Wick! Would I go back? No! There are others believe it or not that are much much better and the staff... are nicer to their customers! It was a Novelty visit, just to see how good the legendary place really was! Just a note: the nexttime a customer walks in for a couple of plastic forks because they were not included in their to go meal, simply say here youare, don't question whether the food was purchased from you, after only 5 minutes of purchase at over $60.00. First time eating at Schwabl's in over 30 years! The beef on "weck" was outstanding! Just like I remember it. Thank you to My... Daughter who took me here on my visit to Buffalo. This place is an institution that when in Buffalo you should have the beef on"weck" here. Read more
