I visited Los Comales this past Saturday 7/16/22. My order wasn't to big, the total came up to be about $46 dollars or so. I... gave the lady $60. Apparently "they" claim I only gave them $40 which is not true because my husband was there with me and sawme putting the money there. I even told her don't bring me the change just keep it for your tip. So either the person at theregister took easy $20...or the waitress herself. I did not want to be rude so just gave them another $20. If the waitressdidn't do it..it wasn't fair for her not to get her tip. I work at a school and consider myself a very honest person. I usuallydon't leave reviews. But if you visit this place check your money. I had a wedding that day a block away and wasn't going to let$20 ruined my family event. I could've told them to check the cameras...but I didn't. It did bothered me a ton because I workhard for my money.....but again it was an important day for us so I tried to ignore it. We live in downtown Chicago but had an appointment in the area, ended up stopping here on a whim and am so glad we did! Honestly... we'll probably rent a car just to come out here to go to this restaurant again! The table came not only with the usual freechips and salsa but also with some soup and fried pork skins which was a nice surprise. The food was excellent, nothing likewhat we can find in downtown Chicago! The vibe is great, staff very friendly. The real medal winner for me was the free salsabar! Really cool setup, lots of different options all of which were very delicious! Definitely a 10/10! Read more

This staff was amazing and particularly Jose! He greeted me when I walked in and was very warm and generous. We had a wonderful... conversation; he told me how he lost 100 pounds and gave me a recipe, let me taste his famous fruit salsa, and personally mademy margarita! My waiter was very very nice!
