Very bland food. Service was fine, but the sweet pork barbacoa was overly sweet. The medium salsa tasted like not much of... anything. Plain lettuce and watery pico de gallo. Just pretty boring overall. No spice or depth of flavor in anything. Read more
We usually come here at least once a week! It's one of my favorite places to eat! Food always tastes great and the service is... fast! My husband loves getting the sweet pork quesadilla and I love the chicken salad and the beef burrito. Read more
Service at this place is so incredibly uneven. In one order, which was the two enchiladas with the sweet pork barbacoa, the... side of rice was crunchy - it was way undercooked. Our to-go order was also nearly cold when we got it home after a less thanfive minute drive and picking up right when the app suggested. In another order, we requested the rice and beans, but no riceand beans (see pics). During previous visits we've complained to management in the hope that this place would make some changesand do a better job - manager seemed put out and uninterested in our feedback, and clearly made no changes. Decided to try something new, always pass Cafe Rio sad to say service here was anything but efficient. By the time we got our... tostadas they were soggy. We were standing right in front of the service line waiting for toppings and somehow got skipped forthe people behind us? Confused Sad to say I did enjoy the quality of the food a mix between Chipotle and Anitas. But beprepared for slop in a plate presentation but ok flavors. Wanted to try their made fresh daily dessert but line wouldn't breakcause they were always behind. Read more
Love this place! Our favorite Mexican fast service restaurant! I had the 2 Enchiladas (One Shredded Chicken & the other Sweet... Pork) and those two meats are my personal favorites. We really miss our Newport News location & whenever we are in the area wealways stop in on our way home for dinner. The Salad is awesome too. And the Nachos are great as well.Definitely try this place.We like it better than Chipotle. (And we like Chipotle too) but Cafe Rio is 10x better. Read more
Their barbacoa pork salad bowl is a winner. I think their fresh tortillas have gotten less fresh and thinner, more like other... places and less amazing than usual. Maybe it was just today? Read more
