The food was fresh, healthy and satisfying. Portion sizes were generous. The service was great, Jenny was really nice. I’m... glad I discovered Hunan cafe and will be back before long. Read more

Food lacks flavor and is way overpriced. Not to mention the $2 upcharge for \"fried rice\", which it seemed was just white rice... with soy sauce mixed in. Very disappointed and will not be returning. Read more

It was overpriced like others have said. Portion sizes were terribly small, and again, if the food was amazing we would have... been okay with it. Fried rice was too bland. Read more

We order lo mein, fried rice, and hunan chicken. I like that the fried rice was not overly salty, it was nice and flavorful and... crisp. We got the veggie version and all the veggies were sautéed perfectly along with the rice. The hunan chicken hadjalapeño which I though were a nice touch. It was spicy but had depth of flavor as well. We were pleased to see a new Chinese fast casual restaurant open in Burke. We ordered the General Tso Chicken, Pork Lo Mein,... Pork Fried Rice, Crispy Beef, Cashew Chicken and fried dumplings. As no peppers are native to China (all of the varieties youfind today were introduced to China 350 years ago from the Americas) I\'ve often found jalepenos present as a mild peppercatering to westerners in Chinese dishes. The Chinese-American dish, General Tso chicken from Hunan Cafe had jalepenos, and itwas delicious. The crispy fried chicken and slightly sweet sauce was perfectly complemented by the mild heat of the jalepenos. My children even, who don\'t prefer their food to be too spicy, liked it. I\'ve seen jalepenos used in the hot pepper chickendish at Mama Chang as well, which is a Peter Chang restaurant. So the presence of this pepper is more common than one wouldthink, in authentic Chinese cuisine. The dumplings were very good, the lo mein was delicious as was the pork fried rice andcashew chicken. The crispy beef was another highlight, with lightly crisp fried beef strips and sauteed vegetable shreds with adeliciously salty brown sauce. The highlight of all was the General Tso, which Hunan Cafe differentiates with the mellow heat ofjalepenos. When I go back, I will be ordering this dish again. Hunan Cafe is a great addition to our options in Burke. Read more

Truly awful overpriced Chinese Food. I got the General Tso\'s Chicken for a whopping $14, it was made with Jalapeno peppers....... at a Chinese restaurant.. I have never in my life seen a Mexican chili pepper used in Chinese cuisine. The flavor of the pepperoverwhelmed the flavor of the rest of the dish and was a terrible combination of fajita flavored Chinese food. They also chargedan extra $2 for what they called fried rice which turned out to be steamed rice tossed in soy sauce, not a single thing friedabout it. The beef and broccoli seemed to be steamed as a whole dish and drenched in a nearly flavorless sauce from a jar, therewas no evidence it had been sautéed at all. I can say with 100% confidence that I have had better and more flavorful meals atPanda Express. Read more
