This was my second visit to Rudy's, my first time to this location. Both visits have been good. From the small sample pool I... have their meats are consistent and have a good flavor profile. I would give five stars, but if I take friends from out of statefor a BBQ experience there are far better places, in my opinion. However you will pay more at those places. So for what you losein flavor and tenderness you also pay more. Rudy's is a good consistent place that will satiate your BBQ needs. Read more

My husband and I were having a vow renewal/ 20th anniversary party. Our kids wanted to have it catered and since they were... paying for it my daughter suggested Rudy's. I had never eaten here before but my husband comes here once in awhile withcoworkers. My daughter and I came to get catering info so I decided to try the food first. The brisket was so tender youdefinitely don't need a fork. Potato salad wasn't my favorite but it's just very different from mine. The manager sat down withus and went over all of the catering options and even brought some sides for us to try before we put in the final cateringorder. I'm not usually a creamed corn eater but let me tell you, their creamed corn is AMAZING!! I wish I could remember themanagers name but she was so nice and really made sure we would have enough food for everyone but not overpay for too much foodeither. They delivered it when they said they would and it even included more than enough bags of ice, tea, bread, plates andcutlery. If we ever need food catering again this will be the place I use! Thanks for making my special day even better bymaking sure my guests were well fed with great food! Read more

Overpriced slop. Prices are pretty high. The employees were arguing. Employees disrespecting a customer who heard enough. I... regret coming here. $70 for a couple of baked potatoes and a couple of kids meals is robbery. Worst BBQ I have ever tasted.Just a bad experience all around. Read more

I don't often buy shirts from places I eat, but I had to get one here because I ALWAYS enjoy the food here. The moist brisket is... great, full of fat and tasty, while the sausage is very good as well. I've not had anything I didn't like here and enjoy thesides are in the fridge next to where you order and you can pick up a potato salad super easy with your banana pudding (don'tmix them together). Place is clean and the people are friendly. They don't take tips when you pay with credit cards which isweird and awkward since I don't have cash but worth remembering before you go to help them out. Take one of the giant sauceshome with you (well pay for it first, don't steal the ones from the table). Read more

Update: after emailing with Lauren, who may be the owner, I?m not sure? We received a refund for the ribs. I greatly appreciate... it and that is how you maintain customers. I will come back when I?m in the area again. Watch and confirm the weight of thefood you get in the drive thru, I was overcharged greatly!! The 2nd pic is a video that actually shows what the ribs lookedlike. I placed an order here, specifically mentioned that I was from out of state and came to Rudy?s for their food. I asked for8 baby back ribs and was charged $72.46 for 4.030 lbs of ribs, I had to ask to confirm it was the right price and was told yes.I put the food in an insulated bag and drove around 7.5 hours home only to weigh the ribs and see they were definitely NOT 4lbs, not even 1.5 lbs. The day prior I went to the same Rudy?s and ordered my daughter a 1/2 lb of baby backs (3-4 ribs, weighing .790, and only paid $14.20, so you do the math). I called today to notify the manager to let him know I was probablytaken for around $30-$40, he accepted no accountability, of course there?s not a lot you can do at this point, but if you workwith food quantities on a daily basis, you?d know there?s no way 8 single baby backs weigh 4lbs, that?s not even a full slab.People work too hard for their money to be cheated. I normally don?t leave reviews but this bothers me. Had I actually received4 lbs of ribs, I would have been fine with it. Read more

Worst Rudy's I've been to. Been a regular customer for decades at other locations in Austin and Waco. The counter person did not... present our meat to us after cutting. I had to open both of the packages to inspect, they gave us the wrong brisket in one ofthe packages. Ordered outside moist brisket so I can get some crust, brisket I received had no crust. Watched them this time tomake sure I got the moist I wanted. But alas, when I got home, discovered the meat cutter had cut with the grain not against it(see picture), which made it very tough, and it released any moisture it may of had so it became very dry in the short 30minutes it took to get home and have dinner. Brisket also had almost no flavor, crust looked like it must of got wet at somepoint, and tasted like the brisket was cooked too hot and rushed. The potato salad here is not the same recipe they use at everyother location, this is just a mayo based salad, so if you like mustard in it, be aware. Also the sausage that they use at thislocation is not the same at other locations, gamier and more filler. Brisket prices here are 25% more expensive than otherlocations. If you're traveling down 35, keep going until you hit the Waco or any of the Austin locations. Cheaper and higherquality. Read more

This was my first time to eat at this location. It's been a long time since I've eaten at a Rudy's period. Boy, have they gotten... sky high. Sorry Rudy's, but your barbecue isn't all that. In their defense, I suppose they would have to price like that for thehuge overhead. Nevertheless, it makes you wonder if that's the reason for the empty building. Read more
