Visited Umms for the first time this summer and was pretty disappointed. First thought when I walked in was that it was pretty... warm inside which is odd considering it's an ice cream shop. My daughter ordered cookie dough ice cream with Oreo and Reese'spieces toppings, and this is what she got: ice cream SOUP! I asked the worker if the cookie dough was hard ice cream and shereplied yes. I then asked why her ice cream looked like a milkshake. Her reply: "because it's hot in here". Unacceptable. I got the krimpet ice cream and my husband got the brownie batter swirl. Mine was supposed to have krimpet cake pieces in it... and my husband's was supposed to have brownie batter in it according to the description, but neither had any krimpet pieces orbrownie batter as described. His was just like plain chocolate and mine was a blandish vanilla flavor. I thought maybe we gotthe wrong ice cream but the waitress identified it as ours. It was just not as described. Wait staff was incredibly friendlyand fast, but the product was just subpar. It's sad because this was the go-to ice cream parlor in my youth for the good stuff,but disappointing this time around. Moving to Burlington County area from the Jersey shore, I saw an article in the Star Ledger that recommended UMMM, so my son and... I visited and found the service to be average, with not much variety. I will say that I do not feel I will patronize thisparlor, and would rather just purchase ice cream from a supermarket, if this is what I can expect from UMMM. If you know ofother good ice cream spots near Route 130 in Burlington, please advise. Read more
Ummm's has lost it's MoJo Stopped in last night with my wife and 3 Grandchildren. We ordered 3 cups of cookie dough a cup of... Banana something and a cup of plain vanilla. The cookie dough had NO cookie dough and flavor was almost non existent, theBanana had chunks of ice in it and no banana and the vanilla was bland also. I grew up in Burlington, I remember when this placeopened and it was the best home made icecream in the area. Not anymore ! I know times are tough but if you put out a goodproduct people will pay time and time again, but if you keep putting out subpar product you will eventually run out ofcustomers. Great ice cream and friendly service. The tables outside were nice; you can almost see down to the river and it's a short stroll... to get there. (The music outside was a little loud.) Downtown Burlington is a nice place to visit! Read more
Disappointing. Ordered 2 scoops of Oreo for my wife and 2 scoops of Oreo with 2 more of Cookie Dough for myself. Ended up being... given 2 cups with what appeared to be an equal amount of melted Oreo. Was assured it was correct. Got home and it was all Oreoin one and Vanilla in the other. Not what I'd expect for $10 worth of ice cream. Read more
Lack of flavors. We were served a blackened walfle cone. Every flavor tasted (4) was bland and icy. Ordered Carmel toping on... vanilla that tasted like butterscotch not Carmel. Read more
