First time customer. Visited on a weekday lunch. The customer service here is spot on. The staff is very welcoming and genuine.... Went for happy hour on their official 2nd day open. Beautiful decor and set-up. Seems they already worked out the kinks with... food service wait - what we ordered came pretty quick. Tried each of their happy hour tacos. All had great flavour, and pairedperfect with beer (might be a bit overwhelming if you don't drink). Surprisingly, our 5 year old loved the cauliflower one so weordered a second. The others were spicy so perhaps not suitable for kids. Also ordered nachos with extra chicken (morebelow). Huge gripe with service though. We noticed there was very little chicken added to our nachos and pointed it out to twostaff. 1) Guy in white shirt (floor supervisor?) confirmed there was chicken in it and walked away. Seemed uncommitted to a goodfirst impression. I watched him for a bit on the floor and didn't see him crack a smile to anyone. 2) Server explained that itwas shredded and mixed in, but even added together the total amount of chicken for $6 was maybe the size of a quarter. Was fortunate to be seated during a private event prior to their soft opening. Great food and service that one would come to... expect if you?ve been to their other locations. Had the beef soup on their recommendation, along with the carnitas taco, fishbaja taco, and an off-menu octopus taco for that night only. The beef soup was flavourful and hearty like a stew. Reminded meof a green pozole. The portion size was surprisingly larger than it looks. The tacos were solid as expected from their otherlocations. Quality ingredients on crisp, yet soft blue corn tortillas. I was told that their blue corn tortillas were madein-house at their Yukon location. The fish was soft and flaky. The octopus was fried and quite similar in taste to deep-friedcalamari, but much chewier. Price-wise, it?s the same as their other locations (around $7-8 per taco). Decent value for thequality of ingredients they use. The service was very friendly and attentive. The staff were quick to follow up on my order andwere happy to answer questions I had about the menu and the location (fully opening on Monday Nov 14 2022). The location offersplenty of heated and covered patio seating. Overall, very happy that La Taquiera has decided to open a location east ofVancouver. Will definitely be back when they fully open for the churro with dulce de leche! Read more

Not officially open until Monday. Came in for the soft opening and tried the enchiladas, chips, churros and soup. All great!... The staff are so many nice and polite. This will be a great spot! But will probably fill up fast before the night ends Read more
