Not sure what happened to this once decent neighborhood Thai place. Ordered the basic dishes tonight; pad thai, curry, stir... fry...but everything was incredibly dry, absolutly tasteless, yet greasy looking at the same time?! Will never order hereagain. Orderd here to entertain some guests but what an EMBARRASSMENT! Read more

Comparable to mediocre food court food. The pad see ew was bland. The pad Thai was decent. The tom kha gai wasn’t good.

Our first time trying (Take Out) and it was excellent, fresh, authentic and most of all balanced! Papaya Salad was spicy and... tangy, Tom Yum was an excellent portion with lots of meat, Basil Stir Fry was not too sweet as was the Red Curry. Read more

4-4.5/5 stars. The food was delicious but the reason for knocking off one star was for the price (felt it was slightly expensive... for what we got) and authenticity (yummy, yes, but didn't feel very Thai). The green curry was my favorite. Read more

Recently, a new take-out restaurant opened on Kingsway called Twinkle Thai (in the former location of First Choice Chinese).... This new Thai restaurant is the brain child of the former owners of Sticky Rice Thai & Asian Cuisine in Surrey. While StickyRice Thai was a full-scale sit-down restaurant, the owners decided to scale things back and just focus on take-out now. Thatbeing said, there is a small bar-like area by the entrance with 6 side-by-side seats to accommodate individuals that just wantto eat their food on-site. On my first visit, I ordered their Green Curry Chicken with Rice lunch special ($13.95). The currywas quite good (they make their own sauces) and had crunchy red and green peppers, large chunks of tender eggplant and chicken,as well as basil. There’s just a hint of medium spice level here that’s not overwhelming. On my next visit, I tried theirPad Thai ($11.95) with chicken, tofu, carrots, sprouts, egg, and onions with a mild sauce. The rice noodles that they use hereare of the thinner variety but are nice and toothsome. At the end of November, I ordered their Red Curry Chicken lunch special($14.95) which comes with a hot and spicy sauce, big cut pieces of tender chicken, bamboo shoots, basil, andpeppers. Unfortunately, they decided to stop serving lunch and just focus on take-out during dinnertime. Read more

I have ordered here twice in the past couple months with the same menu: Pad Thai and Green Curry Chicken. In comparison to other... Thai restaurants I’ve been, I can say that Twinkle Thai is hard to beat. Their pad thai is way better or shall I say its theclosest to being authentic which is the exact kind you get when you’re in Thailand. Also, they are quick to prepare your orderwhich is about 15-20min, not bad. Location is very convenient, place is tiny but tidy, and a very pleasant costumer service. My4 star rating might change by the time I get to try more menus other than these two. Read more
