I had a really unpleasant experience here last week. I?ve always loved waves coffee so I went there to do some work for a couple... hours. The staff were arguing loudly with each other the entire time I was there, full on swearing and yelling. It was souncomfortable. The one barista was yelling at a staff member that appeared to be in training and then would turn around and bereally sweet to the customers. It was just a really bad vibe - would not recommend! The staff this afternoon advised me that the store manager hardly comes in. The store seems to go through a lot of managers. ... This Waves no longer helps the community it is in. They used to donate but don't anymore. But the service from the staff isvaried. It is a Canadian Company. Coffee usually tastes like it came from the bottom of the pot but staff are okay..whathappened to Ash? Starbucks does do things for this community.I explained that I sometimes talked to managers for coffeedonations for local non profits from past managers. They said they would pass the message on to the manager. I then heard themsay amongst themselves "why should local charities get free coffee when they have to pay full price." I cant believe how rude the customer service was So I know they close at 8 why would you be mopping it at 7:36 Then have... attitude when we come in to order something then have more attitude when we say it's for here not to go and on top of all thatour hot chocolate was cold when served. Then she had more attitude when someone else was bringing his dishes to her. She rantedon about cant you see the sign saying dishes o it. Well in a neighbourhood full of coffee shops Waves at Hastings & Carleton makes the effort to stand out. Always clean, bright... and airy. It has its own little meeting room for customers to use . A welcoming environment with a cosmopolitan clientele. Ash the manager is friendly and kind. Food is your standard coffee shop fare. Lots of options for warm or cold drinks. Ordered Belgian mocha, very good. But the service was... not so well. Came in the morning and the batista was busy inputting the... online orders, didn't greet me when I came in the empty store. Didn't have eye contact whenever we talk. Wasn't rude but perhapscan be more delight for the morning costumers and himself? Read more
My husband just came back from Waves 30 kin ago. He bought cheesecake and carrot cake. Cheesecake was good as always but carrot... cake is Old and Stale! I never had anything this Hard and Dry sold to me. It's our anniversary and this is Super disappointing.It's a shame to charge people for this, and it's sad. Better say you run out of carrot cake than sell this. UPDATE: decided toemail the main branch to bring it to their attention and may be contribute to a better service to avoid disapointments like thisin future for others as well. They answered very quickly and apologized for the inconvenience. Also, they offered a 25-dollargift card. I appreciated their customer care and I Really hope the staff will also put more thoughts into quality of servicerather than just pushing their sales. Changing it from 1 star to 3 now. Read more
Really great place for mobile meetings. This location has both free WiFi, and a bookable meeting room for small groups up to 6... people. Friendly staff, great coffee and snacks, a winning combination. Love it. Read more
