I came across Matador pizza while out on a long distance bike ride. It's about a 20 minute drive from my house, but I am ALWAYS... in search of good pizza. I read the previous reviews and it sounded like a solid, family owned pizza place. When I called toplace my order I let them know I had never ordered from them. Their team member was very helpful talking me through their menuoptions. I got there a little early, but my pizza was out on time, and it appeared to be a pretty busy evening for them. Theywere very courteous at the counter and I appreciate that the staff was wearing hair nets and the kitchen looked very clean. Thank you for that!!! I got my pizza, the Matador, and headed home. The pizza looked and tasted great!! If I compare thecost, which some reviewers have, it is slightly more than what I might pay at a chain restaurant. But for me, it was well worthit! I love supporting local businesses and frankly, the team was awesome and the pizza was too!!! I will be going back fortheir deep dish soon!!! Read more
Good pizza that is way too overpriced. They recently raised their already high prices recently due to covid making it difficult... to get their "quality" ingredients. Don't get me wrong the pizza is decent but spending 50+ dollars on two 1 topping pies and acheese bread is a bit much. It's a shame being new to the town this is one of the only close food options. I feel if they werepriced better the business would be way better. Read more
Driving through byron on the way home from up north and stopped by here. Ordered a Detroit style pizza and an order of... breadsticks. It was amazing. Highly recommend plus the manager/ owner was inside and he was letting his employees know what todo on a deep dish to make it up to their standards. It was nice to see people caring about the quality and it definitely showswith taste. Plus they are priced great. A+++ good job!!! Will be making the trip from Howell to get again!! Read more

I live close by and have had matador a few times. Today we ordered an xl vacation pizza with cheese bread and bread sticks. The... pizza had plenty of toppings and cheese but the sauce was minimal and bland. The cheese bread had lots of cheese but was alsobland. Bread sticks were really good though. Staff was friendly.
