REALLY great sushi resturant. The rice is out of this world good with the sushi. Everything seemed very very fresh and... delicious. The Manager, Daniel is always so sweet, our server Megan was great and of course I absolutely LOVE the food! As a no reservations establishment Sugarfish requires you to walk in to add your name to a waitlist and then return when texted... to do so. The wait was less than 30 minutes for weekday lunch. Not too shabby. The quality of the fish is probably the bestI?ve ever had. All of it was so richly flavored that I was full after just the salmon sashimi and albacore and salmon sushi.Concentrated protein and accompanying carbs have that kind of effect on you apparently. Regardless of satiety I soldiered onand got through the parade of seafood set before me with only iced green tea, water and pickled ginger to puncture the oceanicwall I was hitting. Considering how tasty it was, don?t cry for me, Argentina, right? Servers were pleasant and efficient pros,all of them. Good customer service. And good food. But only come here if you want your patience tested to the limits. They only make you for... an hour for your food after you've waited in line for how long. How hard is it to cut some dead fish and put it on a plate, andadd some sauce to it. Absolutely ridiculous. Update: I left my friends to eat without me cuz I was so fed up. They brought backthe sushi that I ordered. And actually it was amazing. It was out of this world good! Maybe I was just hungry idk haha but theyget one more star for the sushi being absolutely amazing in taste and quality. Still they have a terrible way of putting inorders and wait times in the Calabasas location. I'm gonna try the Pasadena location for a second chance cuz the sushi was THATGOOD. Food excellent! I can?t remember all we had in order but it was tuna, yellowtail, albacore, bream, toro, scallops, bluefin crab,... tuna with ponzu (not pictured), and salmon. Service excellent. The food is always consistent and delicious. I like that service is included, too. Great ambience and great staff. They seem to... be pretty busy in the evenings almost every single day. Less so in the middle of the day. I like this location - it?s nice to beable to get grab dessert afterward just a few steps away. Read more
