Wow! I did not expect our takeout to be so good. We've dined in at the restaurant lots, but was pleasantly surprised with... takeout. Obviously it was not the same as dining in, but the take out for sure is by far better than most sushi places. Theyhave custom branded boxes where they place the sushi inside. Amazing detail and quality. I recommend ordering take-out if you'recraving sushi. It's definitely on another level then other places here in Calgary. We got the sushi and sashimi set special.Price is high, but considering the quality of the food. I don't mind paying the premium price. Read more
Gonna recommend this place again, love the food, service, restaurant vibe, service and everything. Need to book ahead of time as... they get busy during open hour. We order many foods but they went to our tummy before it can reach our photo library. Salmon roeit’s the highlight of the night, freshest ever taste in Canada so far. Probably one of the best places I've had for sushi in Alberta. Chef was very kind, he comes out to check up on you and ask how... the food is. The quality of the fish was very good, and everything was served at a good temperature. Definitely don't pass onthe salmon and bluefin, but the highlight of the night was the special scallop sushi. So it’s rarely this easy to write a review but this is flat out the best sushi I’ve ever had. The only thing that comes... close in my experience are the literal fish market restaurants in Tokyo. Not only is the food amazing but the chefs genuinelycare about your enjoyment of what they create. They explained each dish to me in detail and would even tell me in what order toeat each plate for best enjoyment. Top quality food and drink, a welcoming environment, friendly & quick service and anexperience I won’t soon forget. Calgary lucked out on this one, bring everyone you know! We’ve been here a few times and it is by far THE BEST sushi restaurant in town. Reservations are necessary as the place is... small and it fills up very quickly. Head chef Mike has experience working at high-end Japanese restaurants in South Korea andhe is always behind the sushi bar working hard and greeting customers. We’ve ordered multiple items from here over time andeverything has been exceptionally high quality and delicious. Their rolls are not our favourite so we like to splurge onnigiris. I love sushi. Grocery store sushi. Mid level sushi. High quality sushi. After one time eating at Ari Sushi they went straight... to the top for best sushi in Calgary. Easily top five sushi I've ever had! (Not counting sushi in Japan) For such high qualitythe prices are very fair. Just be sure to make a reservation because they are BUSY! Read more
Been to a lot of sushi joints including Michelin starred venues in NY/ Paris and this place easily ranks amongst top. The... quality of fish and all the ingredients they use are top notch. Consider opting in for chef's recommendations as they will pickthe most fresh fish ready to serve that day. We did have them pick a few and all of them came out to be amazing! Nicely furnished restaurant, welcoming staff, delicious menu, open kitchen to watch the chefs/cooks perform their magic of... making your meal. Pros: Fresh ingredients, especially the raw fish sashimi. Open concept kitchen like a theatre where you eatwith your eyes first by watching the chefs/cooks artistically prepare your food. Clean and well-maintained interior. Simple menuso the options do not overwhelm you. Tempura food done right so it’s not greasy or the batter coating does not shed off thevegetables/proteins it’s deep fried with. Exquisite plating and proper portion sizes so you won’t feelbloated/heavy/sluggish after your meal unless you order too much food. Authentic Japanese cuisine practiced but there are somemenu options with western influences available. Booze available…very important. Cons: Small restaurant parking lot so youmight have to park and walk to the restaurant on peak days. RESERVATIONS ARE NEEDED since the restaurant’s dining room issmall with less than 10 tables available and a bar table/bench. Obviously you won’t be dining here if you have fish and/orseafood allergies as the menu is very limited with choices. Only one ‘porcelain throne’ for all customers and restaurantstaff.
