The worst customer service....I called so many times on the way there and no answer ....I get there and ask why don't you guys... answer the phone...the lady working said uts our policy not to answer the phone when we are busy....she was not busy she had 1table only there and they were already almost done their food....she was standing chit chatting with her coworkers...and I toldher she wasn't busy the least she could've done is to answer the phone...she said again that their policy is not to answer thephone...very strange .... Anyhow we got the food...the rice was so bad...not even eatible....the fries were ok...chicken wasdelicious though.... But I still won't be returning to a place like this with horrible customer service like this. This was my first experience with Barcelos. We went to the east hills location and honestly, if you're going to eat peri peri... chicken, you should go to a nando's instead. I don't know how this place got such high reviews but it's overly hyped and notworth the price. I got the Fiesta bowl and it was terrible. The chicken never even went on the grill and tasted of nearlynothing and the rice actually tasted like nothing. The salad came straight out of a bag and you can tell it was old. Icouldn't even eat the tomatoes because they had a strange taste to them. The best thing on the plate was the sour cream. Notonly was the food terrible, the customer service was pretty bad as well. There were advertisements and signs everywhere ofthings we wanted and not one thing we initially asked for were even available. The lady at the counter was fairly rude and veryunhelpful. Their soda machine didn't even work. We dined in and there were weird, sticky splotch marks on the table. I'm notsure if it hasn't been cleaned well or if the varnish is coming off but it was pretty off-putting. Spend your money elsewhereon food. Read more

These guys use to be great. A lot of delicious food and good service. They got too comfortable and completely changed. The food... is good but is way to over priced for the amount we paid. The service is also horrible at the cashier. Rice would gross and theyserve wayyy to little for the amount right now. The chicken tastes okay when they are not busy. The reason for such a low rating is their customer service. This place is... probably the worst customer service I?ve ever seen. I was waiting in front of the counter for like 10 minutes while the waitresspretended she didn?t see me. There was someone already in the hall serving customer, but she was trying to help and then pickedup phone calls. There were two chefs working in the kitchen even had eye contact with me, but neither of them tried to remindthe waitress to at least say hi or tell me to wait. Absolutely the worst Barcelos I have ever had the displeasure to visit. The food was not terrible but it was not good either.... The service was the worst I experienced in any place in Calgary. I feel ashamed that I advised my friends to visit thisplace. Place was dirty and it looked like they scraped all the leftovers pieces together to make up a half a chicken. Theyalso didn't get my wife's order correct and by the time her chicken burger arrived, I was finished with my scrambled egg, I meanmy dismembered chicken. Read more

Our new favorite for peri peri chicken! Definitely better than nandos. flavours are great, the very peri was perfect amount... spice. the portion size is bigger than nandos with same price.the Portuguese salad was good. the ambiance is casual but had nicedecor. the service is basic, you order at the counter and they bring the food. the girl didn't offer any water. Update Nov 19: We still dine here and it?s delicious. I have updated the photo with the full food. Next time I will take a photo... of the fries and the garlic bread. Loved the food and hospitality. Very friendly and the portions is filling. The taste isamazing and the chicken is never dry. First time to dine in today and the experience was beyond amazing.
