The best roasted (lechon) and BBQ pork in the city! This is the only place where I order whole roasted pork for any major... occasion my family would celebrate. The owners are friendly and once you are a regular customer, they would give you freebies ofcooked meat (of what you bought). You can purchase the roasted pork with bone in or without. They also offer rice meals witheither roasted pork, roasted duck or BBQ pork. Prices are GST inclusive and they only accept cash. Very satisfied customer here.I highly recommend this place. In my honest opinion, this is probably one of the best crispy pork in all of calgary and the price is pretty good too! The... owner is the one who cut up the pork and its perfectly cut all the time. Cash only. One of the two top BBQ places in Calgary so far. Place is very clean and efficient (as per a chinese BBQ place can... be). Owners are friendly and complies with covid 19 safety protocols (giving you a buzzer to let you in when there's more thanalloted amount of ppl inside). The Butcher here is unique in the way he chops the meat - it is really well done and thinlysliced (when it comes to BBQ pork and this is a hard technique to master). Everything comes with additional sauce (ask for it).Roasted pork and BBQ pork are a great go to here but everything is honestly a good choice. Growing up in Vancouver, we have our top notch and favorite Chinese BBQ places such as HK BBQ Master and Parker Place Aberdeen... Fresh Meat & BBQ so I'm spoiled with what great Chinese bbq is. BBQ Express is not only the best place I have had Roast Pork inCalgary, but it's comparable to my favorites in Vancouver. That speaks volumes about the quality of bbq at BBQ Express. Theowner is friendly and patient. He speaks at least 4 languages including Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I believehe is of Vietnamese descent so I give him much respect for learning more languages. I have witnessed him deal with new customerswho struggle to order and figure out what they want. He never rushes them and patiently explains each item they point to.Despite a line, he will give you all the time you need! While I have never had any of their other items, their roast pork iswhy I go and that is more than enough reason to come. The pork skin is crispy while the meat is flavored enough but not overlysalty. Tip: don't come close to closing or you will wind up with no roast pork as I have done recently. It does sell out! Asked for 1lb. of "half-fat" BBQ pork, supposed to be $10.50 or so. Ended up getting 2 chunks of BBQ pork charged for $15 (more... than what was asked for). That's fine, I mean, it doesn't have to be so accurate. However, when we got home and opened thepackage, we noticed the BBQ pork we got was so dry and hard/chewy. It's almost like pork jerky.
