Beyond disappointed. Went there with my wife. We decided on the lounge. Not sure what was going on but there appeared to be... several upset guests. First, the positive: decor, overall ambience and interior design was top notch. We sat on the fountain inthe rear of the lounge and it was truly beautiful. The lounge was meticulously cleaned and obviously higher end. I reallyenjoyed the ambience and overall vibe they were trying to put out. The food was very good. 8/10 at worst and the lobster Macand cheese was phenomenal. The drinks were exceptional. Bartender was on point. Best Mai tai I?ve had in Calgary. The managerwas understanding, courteous and extremely professional. Thanks for going out of your way to try to remedy a poorsituation. The bad: our server. I won?t name her, as that doesn?t serve anyone well. But I assume we were discriminated againstbecause we were dressed down. We have 3 kids and decided to treat ourselves, outfits be damned after quickly putting them to bedand copping a sitter. Note; I tip 30% on average as I?m industry. Sometimes appearance can deceive. Nonetheless. The otherserver was consistently helping us and was clearly superior at her job. Wish we would have had her. Our drinks sat theregetting watered down and ultimately not doing the bartenders beautiful creation any justice. Literally everything except ourhorrible server was 8/10 or better. Really hope this is a one off. Really unfortunate experience and I will probably come back.But will probably sit in the dining room next time. Read more
First time at chairman's and will definitely be back. Service was amazing. The atmosphere was so nice and the food was... incredible. We went for our second wedding anniversary and they treated us so well and made us feel very special. Our server wasso great and really took great care of us. The food and atmosphere was great here at Chairman?s. Would be nice if the service was better though. I had booked a reservation... and noted it was for an anniversary event - was expecting there would be some kind of candles or ?Happy anniversary? on ourdesert plate as most places have done that in our previous anniversary experience- was disappointed that didn?t happen, won?tcome here for special occasion. The food was delicious - especially the cheese toast and steak. My boyfriend and I weresurprised at the size of the steak to share - we were expecting a little bit more bigger for 2, otherwise we would?ve orderedseparately instead. The best thing about Chairman?s is the view of the lake. Might try again, but the overall experience wasgood at best. Read more
I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Chairman's yet, we have been here about six times since it opened celebrating special events.... If I could afford it I would be here way more often! It's a nice treat and every time we have been here everything has beenperfect. Our server remembers us from previous visits as we have had her every time except for once, it's always nice to catchup with her. The food really is incredible, even if you aren't into beef they have other outstanding dishes to satisfyeveryone. Of course the star of the show is the beef, the Rib Eye steak is so delicious! I love it with some butter on top. Thechicken supreme gets great reviews from my spouse, and we always start with the French fries which have this crazy good hickoryseasoning. Even though I've never been able to finish it I love the double stuffed potato, it is so delicious and so huge!Leftovers make for a lunch treat the next day. I have a permanent hand injury and am unable to cut and even though you barelyneed a knife the kitchen is happy to prepare it sliced which helps a lot. The dessert menu beckons even though you aren'thungry and definitely doesn't disappoint, with the creme brulee being my spouse's favourite and ice cream being mine. Especiallythe pistachio and chocolate peanut butter flavours. And the first time you use the toilet you might not make it back for 20minutes! ???? A very fancy bidet. Great restaurant tucked away in a neighbourhood with a view. Decor and ambience were very nice and the service was... excellent. Everything we had was good, but the appetizers were the highlights of the night. Definitely get the cheese bread,steak tartare, scallops, and Waldorf salad. We shared the 36oz rib eye and sea bass for mains and both were good but nothingcrazy. Also, don't skip the brussel sprouts that they serve as a side for the steaks. ???????? Read more
One of the best steakhouses in Calgary, excellent service, very clean and very accomplished. We went on a Monday evening and... they were still super busy. Reservations are highly recommended. Lounge is always walk-in. Their menu is amazing, and they havea huge selection of wine. Not to mention, they also have underground parking, one of the many things that makes this placeamazing. Amazing place for a top notch dinner. Great view of Mahogany Lake, sophisticated decor and friendly staff. Make sure you don't... miss the non-beef menu items! I think they are better than the steaks!! Very high end prices, so it's hard to find a meal under30pp. Very accommodating to allergies and the staff are extremely well trained for dairy and gluten free options! Read more
