Came here with the family on a Sunday night after shopping all day. On this day it was happy hour all day. We ordered mini... blarney chips and calamari to start while we took a look at the menu. The chips and calamari were both really good. Who doesn'tlike melted cheese on waffle fries. For mains, we ordered fion burger, penne ale, shepherd's pie, and fish and chips.Everything came out quickly and was super yummy. Service was great. Food came out fast. Everything tasted great. Service here was extremely slow... they were not busy and had plenty of staff... server forgot our oders... but the worst was... their "premium" nachos.... but I will admit the chicken wings tasted good Read more
We were super excited to eat here until it took 15 minutes to get our drinks, 20 for appetizers and 40 for our actual lunch.... Keep in mind the restaurant had maybe 4 tables including us that were occupied and all we ordered were fish and chips and steakfrites. Our waiter checked on us once and only took our order, he didn’t even deliver our food to us. My fish was way toogreasy and not crispy and my boyfriends steak was well done even though he asked for medium rare. My husband and I decided to treat our son for his birthday at Fionn MacCool's Cross Iron (calgary). The staff are amazing and... has exceeded their warm services to us. Their steak lamb shank, fish tacos, and Guinnes steak were equally superb. The servingsare really large. Never a waste of money spent in this place. I visited this place for the first time as my friends live in the same building. I absolutely loved it. I had some drinks, as... well as the French onion soup and their chicken sandwich. The soup was above average but the chicken stole the show! It's 2breaded chicken thighs with coleslaw, a honey mustard sauce, and the chicken is dusted in a chipotle lime powder I think. Was just looking for a local pub and had always wanted to check out Fionn MacCool’s. So last night stoped in for a few drinks... and a shareable. What a treat. The staff I dealt with were Katheryn & Tom who were both just excellent. They were verypersonable, energetic and engaging. I ordered the Garlic Cheddies for only $4.99 for Happy Hour and they were so good Ididn’t even get s a picture of them. Highly recommend checking this place out for a date night or just for some good company. Read more
I liked this place because it’s close to home and my office, a good spot for lunch meetings and the (manager? owner?) was... friendly and attentive to a fault. Burgers are decent, haven’t really tried much else aside from burgers and fish andchips. My last visit I was overcharged: we ordered two burger combo specials ($17 for choice of burger and a draft beer) butthose items were instead charged separately, essentially adding 30% to the bill. The server, who was pleasant and attentiveotherwise, claimed that offer was only on certain days. The owner/manager corrected her right in front of us, however, and shethen offered ONE beer refill rather than a refund — we had paid and were already leaving. Not how this works guys.
