Very bland. Wish there was more staff presence. The museum seems very small and the "audio tour" can't hold an adults attention... much less a child's. Read more

We did the true crime walking tour and it was a blast! I always forget how little I know if Calgary's history and how... fascinating it is when I do learn a tidbit. In the case of this tour, it was end of October at twilight. Fair warning: it getscold as the sun goes down. Dress appropriately. Calgarians should know this but a surprising number had not dressed adequatelyso they were getting cold by the end. I hadn't thought to arrive early to enjoy the museum, but I would recommend that you dobecause I recall it being interesting. I hadn't realized that our tour tickets might get us in (I'm not certain if they do, butit's worth asking). Read more

The confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers has been a place of significance to Indigenous peoples since long before 1875, when... the North West Mounted Police established a site of colonial occupation called Fort Calgary and prepared the way for a newsettler-colonial community. This place remains significant to Indigenous peoples today and Fort Calgary National Historic Sitenow strives to provide the space and opportunity to reflect on the past and help create better paths for our futures. First time visit. Unique historical experience. Such a contrast in the modern Calgary downtown architecture.

Fort Calgary is a very rich and informative museum located at the heart of Calgary. I am a very museum enthusiast person who... never miss a chance to visit the museums when touring a new town/city, and I can guarantee you that this is one of the bestmuseum in all of Canada. The museum highlights the core foundation of Calgary, as how this city was built, starting fromcommunity, which includes the first nations and then how the settlers came in and established new businesses through out thecity. It also showcases the artifacts and stuffs those are connected with the two World Wars, where a lot of people from thiscity took part and the museum displays their stories and roles towards the city and the country during and after thewar. Please never miss the chance to visit this museum if you are visiting Calgary. If you are some one who takes interest inhistory and loves getting lost in the past then this the place for you. Their admission rate is also very reasonable compared toother museums in the city. Read more

We attended with our 2 year old on Canada Day. The place was packed but whenever we asked for help, everyone was super polite... and helpful. They really play the part well in there and all the employees were pleasant even when walking betweenexhibits. There is a range of things to see and do once you enter. The historical homes were neat (though not exciting forlittles). There were only a few rides my son could get on, but he loved them all! The line ups were long for everything but itwas totally anticipated. The only inconvenience we had all day was that strollers aren't allowed on the train. So if you get onthe train at one location, you need to get back to that location to grab your stroller. Well worth the day fee to enter andspend the day - you can easily keep busy all day. Read more
