Absolutely LOVED this place. The inside is clean, comfortable and has great ambiance, artwork, and music from this area of the... world. With help from our fantastic server (and possibly owner....not sure). We decides on a meat and veggie platter for thefour of us to share as well as 1 side meat dish just to make sure we were super full! Actually it was the perfect amount of foodfor four. The sour bread is so good and the flavors of all of the different vegetables was incredible. We had one person atthe table who is gluten free and vegan and the options for this special diet are seemingly endless here. Even the bread (which Ican't remember the name) is made with teff and barley was not a.problem the persons gluten sensitivity. What a wonderful meal!! My sister and I are vegetarians/vegans so we got the shared veggie platter and shiro (a chickpea stew) ... and it was an amazing combination. The food was so flavourful! The host was also very helpful in explaining the menu. Woulddefinitely go back again! Read more

Loved every bite! The injera bread was soft and delicious. Nice Ethiopian music sets a pleasant atmosphere. Pretty decor. I was... by myself for lunch and got the impression the experience will be even better, significantly better, with a group of 3 or more.Just a note, you traditionally eat this food with your hands. Ordered the meat and veggie combo as well as the coffee ceremony. It was enough for 3 people plus some leftovers. Really tasty... array of food with plenty of injera on the side. The spices in each dish were PERFECT and it was fun to try so many differentflavours all on one plate. I liked that we could eat with our hands or with a plate/spoon. We are not new to Ethiopean food and have always thoroughly enjoyed the amazing flavours. We decided to give Geez a try after... reading the great reviews. Unfortunately we were very disappointed as the meat and veg platter was inundated with a ridiculousamount of raw jalapeños which ruined all the subtler flavours. No one in our party of 4 was able to enjoy the meal as ourmouths were burning after the first few bites. We shared our feedback with our server (who never warned us or gave us an optionto not have jalapenos) but not sure they cared. If you want to try authentic ethiopean food, imo there are way better Ethiopeanrestaurants in Calgary. Read more
