Come for the buffet. My 10 year old son loved the food so much he was dancing in his chair. The food is fresh and they have a... good selection of dishes. I assume the menu may be different from non-buffet times. The price is about what you expect, thoughthey do have three tiers of pricing based on age; 1-3, 4-10, and Adult for over 10). So for a family with kids, it is prettyaffordable. The owner is very friendly and goes the extra mile to ensure customers are having a pleasant experience. Highlyrecommend. Read more

Well. We were drawn in by the price and decided to eat here for our anniversary. I don?t even know where to begin. There was... not much hot and ready in the buffet tables. What was there was obviously there for a long time when we arrived. They wouldscrape out the old food and put new batches in the old hot pans. They never cleaned or replaced the hot pans and food was driedand crusted underneath each new batch. Customers had to constantly ask if more food was coming out. The sauces were all open indishes at the end of the buffet table. Even the ketchup. It was all crusty or had old food that had fallen off other peoplesplates floating in it. The ice cream freezer was caked in old ice cream. The tracks for the door were decorated in everyflavour that was in the freezer, some of which looked as if they needed to be replaced as they also had old food and otherflavours frozen into the remainder of what was left in the bottom of the ice cream tubs. The scoops that they had were alsodirty and covered in old ice cream with the water they are sitting in totally cloudy and not changed in who knows how long. Weonly ate the ice cream that was obviously just opened and asked for new clean scoops. Based on how dirty the food service is, Idon?t think the kitchen or food storage would be much better. Lastly, they charged us $5 for our 2.5 year old to dine with us.She ate all of 3 bites of one crusty dumpling and half a scoop of ice cream. We have never had to pay for her in any buffet/allyou can eat situation anywhere. Most places don?t charge until age 3-5. So that didn?t sit well after we had to constantly askfor food to come out, and some dishes were never refreshed while we were there. Any food we did have didn?t taste great, andwasn?t worth eating here for at all. I didn?t feel well for most of the evening after eating here. I went for the dinner buffet and was overall happy with what I got. They have a much smaller selection of items than traditional... buffets, so if you're hoping to get a big plate of everything, temper your expectations. However, the food was fresh and thebuffet was constantly being refilled so everything was hot and ready to go. Service was fine, friendly, but as it's a smallerfamily run establishment it did seem rushed at times as they could have done with 1 or 2 more servers. But our plates werecleared in a timely manner and we got our requested drinks quickly. Food wise, I enjoyed what I ate and it was solid Chinesebuffet fare, nothing too fancy. Went to Gold Bistro tonight for dinner. Not because of all the reviews but because I have loved this restaurant and Allan... (owner) since I first went there in 2005. They always have delicious food, always hot and fresh and a nice selection. Had a nicechat with Allan during our visit there and I told him how much I have loved the food and environment here. He is so unbelievablygrateful for the outpouring support of the regulars and all those who pay him a visit. After hearing straight from him how closethey were to bankruptcy because of Covid broke my heart. Everyone needs to go here and support local businesses because theyhave truly been hit the hardest over the last 3 years. This man and his business deserves numerous awards for food quality,freshness, friendliness, and just overall atmosphere. I can?t speak more highly of a business and person. Gold Bistro is a hidden gem in a strip mall in Midnapore. All you can eat Chinese buffet was fresh and hot. Family run and super... personable staff and excellent service. Funny enough, being our first time eating here, the patrons that overheard we werenewbies were so passionate about recommendations. My wife and I took our Grandkids to Gold Bistro this evening. We had not been there before, but were looking for a good Chinese... Buffet in the area, and took a shot. The first thing I can say is that the staff (owners I assume) were extremely friendly andattentive from the moment we walked in. We were only drinking water, but our glasses were always full. The service wasexcellent, and we felt very welcome. As for the food, it was very fresh, tasted fantastic (We were happy to find out they don'tuse any MSG, a definite plus) and the items at the buffet were replenished immediately. None of the food had been sitting toolong, nor were the bins empty. This is often a tough balance for anyone running a buffet and they handled it very well. I hate to leave such a negative review but I just spent $80 on the worst Chinese food I've ever had! The salt and pepper squid... seemed like it was leftovers from a day or two ago, it was rock hard on the outside, chewy on the inside and so so bland! Theginger beef was just "ok" and both the Shanghai noodles and the curry chicken were flavorless! The curry chicken hardly even hadany chicken at all, I'd say the dish was 95% vegetables! I cook alot of Asian food and could have made better dishes than this,without even trying but after a long work week, I really really wanted a good meal without having to cook and now I am full ofregrets!
