We had a staff Christmas party here in their private room. We ate a set menu, family-style. All the food was amazing - the... calamari was so tender and the ravioli was fresh and flavourful. We had another pasta dish, two kinds of pizza and severalappetizers. The foods were well-balanced and perfectly made. I highly recommend this restaurant! Read more

We were professionally greeted in the foyer by May, a co-owner of LDV restaurant. She and her husband, Claudio, recently took... over the restaurant. They have an extensive food and beverage background. Added to the kitchen is a trained chef of Romanheritage. We were seated immediately and offered flat or carbonated water. We ordered pizza which arrived within 10 minutes, freshly made. The Margherita and Vegetarian were tasty with a light crust amply-loaded. May also delighted us with samples ofher private-label hot peppers. We enjoyed 1 glass of wine and 2 beer. Total bill was ~ $65 + tip. For an easy night out withexcellent food and service and, I would highly recommend LDV. If you are a sports fan, TVs are often broadcasting popularsports sans volume. Street parking along 1 Ave is free after 6 pm. Read more

Very disappointed with the new management. Same menu but certainly poorer quality. We were served rather rubbery shoulder ham... instead of prosciutto, tasteless tomato and old darkened mushrooms. The tomato sauce, the soul of Italian food, was watered downtoo. The pizza dough was still good and the edge was crunchy, but it was under-baked so the center was too soggy. Alas, allpastas were way over cooked for Italian food standard, and mostly too creamy. The foods are more like American fast food nowinstead of the more authentic Italian ones. Gone are the oven roasted crispy Italian bread. Sure missed the previous quality. Onthe positive side, the place is still very clean and parking is easy. Oh, we missed the lovely smile and hospitality if theprevious family too. The new team have to catch up with smiling warmly. Read more

First things first, our server was lovely. The customer service of management is questionable. Our party of four ordered from... the provided paper menus. Appetizer arrived quickly, followed by pasta. Two of us ordered pizza and were told it would be a fewminutes later. That's fine. When pizza's finally arrived about 10 minutes later my vegetarian pizza had two additionalingredients on it that were not listed on the menu. I asked the server to see the menu to double check and confirmed that theerror wasn't mine. She went back to speak to what I presume was a manager/owner ( I could see from where I was seated) and cameback to tell us that in August the restaurant came under new ownership and had not updated the menus. Thankfully this was apreference of mine and not an allergy. The server offered to take back the pizza and have a new one rushed. My table was nearlyfinished their meals so I asked for it in a to-go box. New 'rushed' pizza still took 20 minutes to make. No apology from anyoneother than the server. A different employee came up to ask us how the food was and I said mine was still missing and they justwalked away. While everyone has 'off' nights, it doesn't take much to take some accountability and not just leave the server upto handle a management mistake. How a business has been functioning with out of date menus for a month is beyond me. I didn'thave the mental energy to approach any of the managers/supervisors our server spoke to as we were leaving, hence a review. Foodwas good but when there are so many great choices for pizza/Italian in Bridgeland, service counts and it was a disappointingnight out. Read more

We've lived in Bridgeland for 3 years and we walked by it quite a bit and thought, it was time to give this restaurant a try.... From the outside, there is the Italian charm but upon walking in, there a dusty defunct bar that acted like a storage room, notthe best impression. We were prompted seated but it seemed they were very short staffed, we would not see our server for like10-15 mins at a time. Fries were okay, not salted enough, no shakers on the tables either. Pizzas took forever to arrive. Whenthey did: the vegetarian toppings were so coursely cut on the thinnest crust, it was impossible to eat without all the toppingsfalling all over the place. Ingredients didn't seem special (Unico black olives) or thoughtfully prepared (very charredeggplant). My partner got mushroom and ham pizza, he noted that the crust was so thin that the sauce made the dough gummy, likeit wasn't cooked right. Ambience was nil: no music but they had the sports on. Servers didn't do a service check. I'm going touna next time craving dine in pizza. Read more

Really loved this place. Beautifully decorated and warm European interior. Crazy Calabrese pizza was very good; advertised as... spicy but if you like heat it is only moderately spicy. Best selection of German beers I have seen downtown Calgary, with otherEuropean beers too. Overall, great restaurant and looking forward to returning. Read more
