This place was not a pleasant experience for us. First of all, when I purchased a whole pie, the cashier charged me an extra... hidden dollar for the disposable aluminum tray. She told me she would refund the dollar if I bring back the disposable tray. Idid not think it was a healthy practice to reuse the dollar-store quality disposable tray to other customers. Secondly, when wetried eating it at the restaurant, she told me we were not allowed to eat it in the dining room. There was not sign whatever inthe restaurant. Thirdly, the pie was not good. Excellent pies. Flaky crust, I tried the apple, my favorite, sour cherry and peach. I found all of them full of flavor. My... only complaint is there isn't a store in northwest calgary. I will definitely make the drive. I will try their savory piesnext. Read more
Darn. Was greatly looking forward to the rhubarb pie I bought yesterday. It is not good. At all. The pastry has no sweetness and... is reminiscent of cardboard. The rhubarb doesn't have enough sugar to cut the acidity so it's left me with a stomach ache. And Ilove rhubarb and don't like my desserts overly sweet so this is saying something. Great place for pie and a catch up with friends. They always have a great selection of pies that are made from scratch. They... also offer soup, sandwiches and quiche as well if you want a meal before having some of their delicious pies. Friendly staffand ample parking. Coconut cream pie is the BEST for summer dessert! It?s a nice compliment to their latte or a hot chai tea latte. Apple Peach pie... was also good with loads of fresh fruit fillings inside.
