Yesterday I had my first Commander Night at this place and I must say the vibe is wonderful. Somehow this little shoebox just... feels LESS intense and sweaty than all the other stores. The $5 entry was great and the competition was fierce without beingstraight up un-fun. They also have a small kitchen which blew me away. This will be my regular spot now that I live in thenorth! The staff here are always super gracious, pleasant, and helpful. Last time I went here for Magic, looking to pick up some... booster packs for a friend's commander deck, as well as a commander deck of my own the staff made excellent booster pack anddeck recommendations. I came with 8 year old son for Pokémon cards. Every now and then, we might stop in to pick out 4-5 cards. You can see and touch... each card before buying. The staff are always friendly and helpful and each time we have visited, we?ve left with some bonuseslike Pokémon posters, calendars, and Stickers. This place is a hidden treasure tucked away in a strip mall on the south east corner of McKnight Boulevard and Edmonton Trail... NE. A good friend came in from BC in search of MetaZoo cards and wasn't able to find them at other stores she knew about so wedid a quick Google search and discovered ShoeBox games. Absolutely love the store! Super friendly staff, no one rushes you to pick out your cards, and you can actually browse the... single cards, unlike *cough cough* other card shops. I live close by so I'll definitely be a regular customer! Read more
Absolutely amazing service! The staff are all knowledgeable, friendly, and fantastic to deal with. I usually come in with odd... requests to purchase rare cards/specific printings, but everyone that has ever helped me here never once refused to help mehaha.
