We did an Omakase style dinner, with the chef choosing the dishes we tried. And oh boy, we were so glad for it! There was not a... single thing that we tried with which we were disappointed. The atmosphere is modern with little touches of traditional decorations, the staff was all friendly and attentive. The food was... wonderful! The miso soup is served with a variety of Japanese mushrooms, the edamame was just the right level of salteness. Igot the spicy salmon and the prawn tempura sushi. It was absolutely delicious, the salmon was fresh and had a wonderful flavour,the tempura was crunchy throughout the meal. We came here for dinner and I must say it was amazing. We ate some of the specials from Japan and they tasted fresh and vibrant,... the atmosphere is pleasant and refined and the service we got from Alyssa was top tier. The highlight of the evening was thedesserts for sure, we had the trio so we could try both the soufflé and the sake creme Brule and God was that creme Brulegreat!! The Japanese cuisine is really amazing, I am quite sure that the chef is from Japan as I have been Japan for many many times,... the food is so wonderful that beyond my expectations while I was in Calgary. I would recommend the Tempura, Chirashi and theother Sashimi courses. BTW, the staffs were all kind and attentive. Read more
Overall I enjoyed my lunch here. I had the bento box as recommended by others who come here more often as their best item. The... food tasted fresh, and is relatively well put together. Seasoning was good, and everything was cooked relatively well. However Idid not find that it tasted particularly better than a bento box offered by any other Japanese restaurant, and certainly not forthe price asked. Hands down, one of the best Japanese restaurants in Calgary. I went for dinner with a friend last night and we were raving about... how delicious everything was. The Agedashi Tofu melts in your mouth, the Beef Tataki was delicious and fresh, and the TakoCarpaccio was amazing. All the sushi rolls we ordered were fresh and tasted wonderful (Alberta Roll, Mango Roll and the ShakeSkin Roll). It is a bit on the fancier side, so I’d probably only return for special occasions or monthly treats. Service wasgreat, the first waiter I had was very friendly and knowledgeable, but the second one was more quiet. Regardless, everything wasperfect. Food was so good here. Raw fish was so fresh and tasted great. Server was very nice and fast. The place doesn’t look fancy but... when you get the bill you will be hit hard. I didn’t expect it to be this expensive. Usually I pay 100$ max for me and my twokids. But today we paid $200 including tip. But it’s still more than the usual. I don’t know if it’s because of Covid orthey are usually this time expensive. Am not from Calgary so I don’t know how prices are here. Read more
Very attentive service. Food was good. I ordered the Waldorf salad, the Spicy Prawn (tempura) and Chirashi. The spicy prawn... tempura was not what I was expecting but tasty nonetheless. The most memorable part of the Chirashi was those red prawns - mightbe Argentinian red prawns & the wild Atlantic salmon. Read more
