Before I go into my review I will say that I am biased. I am a calgary native and have been eating at wonton king, and kings wor... wonton since basically I was born. This locations soup is good, not great (like eat 5 bowls of this amazing goodness great asis my normal experience) just good, not the king's experience I remember. The soup broth was excellent as always, the bbq porkexcellent, the noodles and wonton were sadly quite over cooked and mushy. I think it gave the wontons a very overly porky flavor(maybe not enough seasoned or maybe just over cooked not sure). I'll be back again when I'm down this way to try them out again,hopefully it was just an off day for the food. Well this place has gone downhill fast. A few years ago this place was AMAZING! I would take all my friends here and me and my... family would go for lunch here or at their original location on Barlow. However, since their Barlow location closed and theywent under new ownership or somebody else in the family took control of things, it's really gone downhill. I went today andwhen we ordered and said it was to stay, the woman working the counter sighed and said, ?We close at 3.? We had about 15-20minutes to get our food, eat, and go. I've worked in restaurants and if you still have PAYING customers in the store, you don'tturn the lights off on them. The soup was good, the dumplings were meh, they were actually kind of cold, and the spring rollswere way too greasy. The restaurant was obviously dead, there was one other gentleman who arrived at the same time as us and thewoman was just as rude to him, as she was to us. I wish they'd kept their previous staff because the woman who used to workthere was AMAZING. After this experience, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Read more

Came here based on recommendation today, I let the lady at the front know that it was my first time coming here and she... recommended I try the war wonton soup, needless to say, it?s sooooooo flavourful and delicious! I went to this restaurant last Friday for a soup , kinda craving for it. When I entered the restaurant, ambiance was good, the... place is clean and most of all TECHI was very nice and attends to customers very well. The owner of this restaurant is reallucky for having her. She is a real asset to the store because of her pleasant personality. The soup really taste good. Was in the city for tests at a doctors office and wasn't feeling so great. Had a craving for wonton soup and I had heard about... Wonton King so I thought let's give it a try. Not in the best of moods and in some pain so I really just wanted a good bowl ofsoup. They did not disappoint. Everything tasted amazing. You can never go wrong with the classic wor wonton soup at this local chain. It has cured many a hangover of mine over the... years and also hits the spot perfectly on an extra cool day. It's also just as delicious when taken to-go and eaten athome. The bone-in salt and pepper ribs are also a great thing to have along with soup if you're extra hungry. Read more
