If you haven't had food from Yemen before. Similar to most Arab cooking the food at this restaurant was delicious. My friend and... I we enjoyed the the lamb which was served over a bed of rice, and a dish called charred beef, which was sliced beef piecescooked to a perfection served only with a large freshly baked yemeni bread, which looked like a large baked pita bread. It wasdelicious! Our water was delivered to our table in a clay bottle, it came with two plastic cups. Not sure why plastic was beingused perhaps this is the post coronavirus era. Nevertheless the water tasted delicious as well! The value for the food that youorder is outstanding, it's not cheap and it definitely is not expensive. The restaurant is small but personable. If one is looking for authentic yemeni food at great quality and price then this is definitely the spot to dine in. Didn't look... very inviting from the outside but it is quite spacious inside with ample seating. Friendly staff, efficient service, reasonableserving times and large portions. Highly recommended! First time but definitely not the last! We were a group of 4 and the host politely offered a drink on the house for our first... visit. This was a pleasant surprise to an amazing meal. We shared 3 larger dishes and one smaller one and it was the perfectamount. All the dishes were delicious, well prepared and perfect for sharing. No doubt that we will be back very soon! Read more
Located in a little house, once you're inside the decor is cute. Food comes super fast. We ordered the lamb but they had just... run out so we got a suggestion from our server for what is popular and she suggested the beef. Everything was delicious! Therestaurant itself was quiet, but phone and delivery orders were going off constantly. It sounded like a lot of people wereordering takeout for iftar, which we took as a good sign! Our dish was not warm enough, seems it was prepared beforehand and just warmed to serve. Beef kabsah was spicy and tasty but... lamb mandi's rice was undercooked without spices. The portions were very generous. One dish was enough for a couple. Staffdidn't check on us at all. Just took our order, brought it and left. Decoration was nice but at the entrance there were somecardboard boxes that I made me think we came through staff door not the main door. The building is so old. This is my go to place with Friends for dine in and take out during work. Amazing place, exceptional customer service. Taste of... Mandis are well cultivated. I went twice after. Went again today to try their Yemeni Egg and Yemeni Tea. It was the first timeI experience a smoky flavour in an egg. Generous portion size. Tea was exceptionally well as a tea lover. Cardamom and cinnamonwas blended well. My friend ordered Yemeni Dark Roast, it was a good to have a strong kick. I was having intense desire of LambMandi and Fish for long time and we had yesterday. The food here is incredible. Everything we ordered was amazing - from the beef to the chicken to the fish to the dessert. Also,... we ordered the milk tea and the lime with mint juice as every table seemed to be ordering them - both were amazing. Try thisrestaurant and you won't regret it. Pro tip: large plates (about $18-$28) are for 2 people, as they are, as suggested, large (wemade the regrettable error of ordering 1 large plate per person). Read more
This place is amazing. Food comes fast, very reasonably priced, and delicious. The owners were friendly and recommended great... options. The drinks were also a good pairing to go with the aromatic spices. From the unassuming door leading to a nice interiordecor to the water from a jug, we had lot of fun here.
