Chateau Montelena is a beautiful property. Lin did a wonderful job sharing the history of the winery. Madison also was wonderful... hosting our tasting. During the tasting, we tried 4 wines. The Chardonnay is famous, and known for putting Napa on the map. Wedid a side by side of two Cabs from different years. The final was Zinfandel. I definitely recommend visiting this winery if youwant beautiful photos on a gorgeous property. Make sure to book in advance, as spots will fill fast. Read more
Better than you can ever imagine! I recommend an early tasting here, so you have room to explore the grounds. They have a... beautiful garden and lake area I could have explored all morning. The Chateau has a rich history with people who care. Linwowed me during our tasting experience. She is genuine, kind, and truly a pleasure to spend time with. They have some wonderfulcollateral explaining the soil where the grapes are planted. Left with a couple of bottles. Will be back for more. Read more
Visited here this past week and had a great time! Lin was our wine tasting extraordinaire and educated us so much on the history... of the area and really took the time to get to know our family. She was so fun to talk to and really helped make the experiencefeel more personalized than many other wineries. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, we got stunning pictures and even got tohave a short picnic down on one of the gazebos. Highly recommend putting this on your list if you're in the area! I came here on a Thursday after booking a tasting for myself and my husband. We did the standard tasting and were in a group... with 4 others. It started right on time and David, who was doing our tasting, was informative and friendly. The wines were good,I especially liked their award winning chardonnay. I'd also say it was exciting to try a $185 bottle of cab sav. The groundswere beautiful. Unfortunately work was being done on a part of it so we couldn't see the lake and islands too wellsince weweren't allowed on the sidewalk. Overall I'd say worth the visit. It was shorter by a lot than many other wineries we visited,for the same cost, but beautiful none the less. Read more
Beautiful estate. Chardonnay was a true delight and hallmark of this winery. David was a great storyteller and his wealth of... knowledge for the region was as valuable as the tasting itself. 4 out of 5 stars has more to do with Covid protocols-unfortunately the bookings allowed too many people within the indoor bar area. Great winery! Probably one of my favorites from my trip. They have some pretty good wine deals that the other places I went to... didn?t have. The walk towards the tasting was so nice and green! They also have a beautiful walk way along the water for somegreat pictures after your tasting. Parking wasn?t an issue but be sure to make reservations in advance! Read more
Beautiful grounds and personable service. The wine tasting was standing up at the bar, and our host was very informative and... friendly! A lot of the wine tastings we did today almost felt like a revolving door, but Chateau Montelena definitely kicked itup a few notches! This was our last stop during a private tour and we are so glad we wrapped our day here! The property made meglad that I brought my nice camera. Thanks again. Read more
