I came here for the pizza bc I only love NY style pizza and I was not disappointed. Even if it was slightly salty, I still... enjoyed the generous w mozzarella cheese, the thin thin crust, and the fluffy and light but chewy dough. The crust was probablythe best crust I had in ages. Almost like a hybrid filó dough thin top layer and chewy core without much density. The waitresswas very sweet, gave our dog fresh water in a clean washed bowl, let our dog sit with us on the outside table which had anumbrella for sun. The salad was huge and could be shared with 2-3 people. Calamari was done just right ? light and crispy withlots of homemade marinara sauce. Love the charming town of Callicoon, NY! Love Peppino?s Restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Caution, large portions... here! Veal chop dinner I got could feed 3 people! Great drinks (beer) reasonably priced. Bar area. Plenty of nearby streetparking. Not cheap, but excellent food cost extra. Friendly and professional staff. Terrible service. Waitress was rude, and served the bigger tables even though I was there first. Took 20 minutes to get drink... order. Then almost an hour for fettuccine Alfredo no chicken or nothing. Cost me $25 for a bland Alfredo dish add someseasonings please. Just salt even. Not worth the drive or the wait. I had the veal Milanese & my wife chicken marsala. The latter has great taste profile, whilst the former was bland.
really good mushroom pizza! the medium size is actually very large. service was fast and efficient. and a shout out to the guys... who were making the pizza the day i ordered - it was an extremely hot day, and to be stuck inside near a hot oven must havesucked (sorry, guys, for being oblivious when i decided to give in to my pizza craving). My family tried Peppinos and we were not disappointed. I had penne a la vodka! Delicious and super huge portion. My son had the... stuffed pizza and my husband tried the margarita. Clearly we couldn't decide. The food was great. Brenda, our server, waswonderful. Best of all, we were able to sit with our pup out front. We will be back! Read more
First time here and the food was SO GOOD!! It was crazy busy but the servers were still attentive and did a great job!!
