I love this place. Went for our time on Sunday for brunch. It was so delicious. Loved the Crab Benedict and the Bacon Bloody... Marys are an awesome meal & drink all in one. They are artists ?? so good!! We had the buttered rum and apple pie cocktails, spinach salad (they split in two for us without... us even asking ????), mussels, salmon and steak. It was all sooooo delicious. I have to omit dairy and they were so kind aboutit. The spinach salad has shredded hard boiled egg that looks like cheese but wasn’t. I personally loved the salmon most. Ithas so much flavor in the mushrooms. The sweet potatoes with salmon is such a good combo. We left very happy feeling like weexperienced something special and unique with proficient staff. We took our buddy out for his birthday and luckily we happened upon Roots. From the moment we walked in the door we were... treated like royalty. I had arrived a few minutes before everyone else so I had the chance to enjoy a bullet rye Manhattan whilejust letting the days adventures slowly fad away. Once we were seated we started off with brandied chicken liver mousse &caprese salad both of which out of this world. Of course we needed a bottle of the Ken Wright Cellars Pinot Noir if we weregonna keep this night on track. Dinner consisted of the braised boneless short ribs, a roasted Alaskan halibut and their housepork chop. Lucky my buddies are very generous so we were all able to try each of the dishes. We followed dinner with a warmedpeach cobbler all a mode and Madagascar vanilla crème brûlée which was delivered while we sang the happy birthday song. Whata fantastic experience. We went here for a birthday celebration, and it was perfect! My steak was AMAZING! Best filet I have had in the city. Drinks,... appetizers and dessert were also very good. The wait staff was nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend, and we will beback! Read more

Every aspect of the restaurant from the decor, food, and... cocktails truly display the chef's vision of constantly plate fresh and seasonal PNW course. You will immediately see therelationship of the well-plated dish to its taste. For me, I just want to keep appreciating the plating instead of taking abite. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and thrives to deliver the best dining experience to its guests. I'm sorry to say, that yesterday (11-17-22) was not consistent with the food we've come to expect at this restaurant. I can... understand the cost of food has increased, all the more reason for the kitchen to maintain their quality! We stopped in forlunch and while we were greeted with the same great service and friendly atmosphere, the food was definitely NOT! I had a cheeseburger that left me feeling horrible the rest of the day. The stale bun was hard and cold. So cold that the $3.00 piece ofcheese solidified! And my fries were grossly over salted. When our server inquired how our meal was, I explained my issues. Andno compromise was made. When our $60.00 check arrived at the table, I was actually quite surprised that there was not one singlething comped. Really disappointed in the "hit n miss' with the kitchen staff. That being said, if your lucky enough to landthere on a day that their top chef is on, it will be a great experience. But yesterday, even the crab cakes were not theirstandard.???? Read more
