Excellent small plates restaurant AND burger!! I had to take a few different angles of the burger to make sure I truly captured... it best because I rank this is a top 3 burger of all time. The crunchy cheese crisp, the sauce, and it was well salted. As muchas I enjoyed the burger, however, the other small plates were really excellent! The broccoli and cauliflower were great, and thefocaccia was also good. However, what I think was the star of the show was the basil pasta—some of the best pasta I've evereaten. I tasted homemade, there was a little bit of spice to it, and it was honestly perfect. Try the secret burger (they onlymake about 40 per night), but get the pasta too! Read more

I can’t say I understand the hype. Service 5, food 3, maybe. Kale salad was solid- in taste and as a solid green citrusy... mountain. But their adventurous plates didn’t really do it for us. They were beside themselves that we didn’t take to thechicken “nuggets”. I suppose we shouldn’t order ambiguous meat in quotes. The rabbit wasn’t my thing but my dinner mateenjoyed it. The secret burger was more charred than I like and dripping in sauce, if you like it that way. I left feeling heavyand fried out. Perhaps that was our ordering mistakes? The menu rotates, so better luck next time. With so many good options inH Square these days, I might stick to drinks and simple Americana here if I return. Read more

I visited this place around brunch/lunch. They have decent high quality food. I would definitely try it for dinner as well. The... portions may be a bit small, but the food is good so highly recommend. Read more

We went for a spontaneous dinner on Mother’s day, most restaurant we called they were fully booked. Only this place got space... so I was suspicious of how their food would turn out. The restaurant was in the basement but it’s spacious. Food were so sogood, especially if you are not a huge carnivore. There vegetables dishes were creative and super delicious. We had friedBrussels Sprouts. Grilled Carrots, Grilled Broccoli with carrot hummus, Carrot Bolognese(I can eat this everyday), Pork Bellywith Grits, Steak TarTar, and Tenderloin. All the dishes taste very good and on the health side. The restaurant owners supportwomen in business, like the wine we had was from the women own winery. Read more

Dinner was fantastic. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super attentive and friendly. All the food was excellent. The... kale salad with the pistachio dressing was a unique blend of flavors. The basil pasta with carrot bolognese was amazing. It hada slight kick - but I don’t like spicy and I loved this. Also a perfect portion. And the smoked chocolate bread pudding wasdelicious- the smoked chocolate make it so good - with really great vanilla ice cream on top. Read more

This is the first time we had dined at Alden & Harlow and we were very impressed! Our server (Casey) took extra care to be sure... that I didn't have any gluten in my food or even any cross contamination and took my allergy seriously. The food wasphenomenal! I will say that the portions are small for the price but the flavor profiles and skill of the chef makes the pricefair. The only piece of constructive criticism I will give is: The non server staff (water person, other servers not currentlyassigned to your table) walk around quite a bit. I felt like before I even finished chewing my last bite someone was at my tableasking to take my plate or coming to fill my water. Aside from that mentioned above, the service was excellent, the food wasdelicious and we had a great time and will definitely be back! Read more

I went to Alden & Harlow for brunch with some friends. The menu is pitched more as small plates to share, but I just got the... tasty Carbonara dish for myself and I thought the portion size was great for one person. However I wouldn’t advise thatstrategy for every dish. The Sweet Corn Pancakes, while delicious, are very small and would not make a great meal byitself. Came back here for dinner and the food was great like it was for brunch. I know it’s supposed to be shared and smallplates but the prices and portions don’t seem to match that mentality for all items. I got a burger for myself and it feltlike a normal one person entree and difficult to share. Read more
