What an experience! This is where I learnt that food in Ethiopia is served on a platter known as a gebeta, which is a large... circular platter. First, a circle of injera (made of Muskal Teff, an Ethiopian grain) is placed on the gebeta, then thedifferent stews, curries, or vegetables, that you've ordered are placed on top of the injera. We ordered the Ahimilti Bebaynetu(Vegetable Combination - Cabbage, yellow split peas, spinach, chick peas, lentils, and tomtato salad) and Alitcha Ahmilti(Vegetable stew made from a mixture of cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, green peppers, string beans, and potato curried inyellow sauce).
