Wonderful Cuban restaurant in the porter Square area ! Definitely has a vibrant atmosphere and easily a good date night spot or... place to go with friends and family. We came and though service was a bit slow, the drinks were amazing ! Most drinks were rumbased, and presented authentically -- get the el hotel national or Cuban cigar. The food was amazingly filling, yet light. Agood spread of meat and vegetarian dishes, which catered to everyone in our groups. The ceviche, octopus, lamb chops, hummus,and yucca were all highlights. The food quality was great. The quantity is fine and location is perfect. Make sure you book them a day prior. They also have... parking behind the restaurant. I wish they had more vegetarian options though, especially for small and large plates. Servicewas a bit slow but we were told that they're short of staff. Staff is friendly. Overall I liked the place. It can be a bitpricey since the portion size isn't much, so you tend to order more. Definitely try the spinach empinadas. It's not on the menubut asked them about it. We went for a 2 person dinner and shared 3 small plates and 1 large plate. Really blown away by the small plates, we had crispy... pork belly and lamb chops and golf shrimp. The lamb chops were the best. However everyone was in the little heavy on the saltyside. For the large plate we had the sword fish which was okay. The lentil soup with sweet potatoes was refreshing but again wason the more saltier side. The restaurant was fully packed on the Saturday evening and we sat in the patio. The food was super yummy. Took my parents out here and they loved it. My favorite was the El Dorado and Mejilliones Con Chorizo.... The sauces for those were chefs kiss. I gave it a 4 star because there was only one waiter that was going around on the bottomfloor also my parents and I were squeezed into a small table. Read more

Unfortunately we weren’t impressed with our visit. Some of the dishes were quite good but others were very disappointing,... especially for the supposed quality (price) of the restaurant. The truffle yuca fries were the standout. They were delicious,perfectly crunching and well seasoned with a flavorful balancing dip. The cauliflower was also quite good, though I wish thetexture had been more crispy. The mariscada was pretty terrible. The mussels was so tasteless and almost sandy, we couldn’teat more than a few of them. The squid was edible but had no flavorful and were rubbery. The ceviche was interesting (in a goodway) and we enjoyed it. We probably won’t return unless only for the yuca fries! Read more

First time dining here in Cambridge. Excellent food. Quite filling mini Vegetarian tapas plate and the tacos and mahi rice plate... we tried. The banana plantain went well with the avocado, cauliflower and beets salad. Very aromatic and rich flavours. Goodcustomer service. I will not get over this until I get back to Canada. We had a great dinner at Gustavo! The food was all excellent. We really loved the ceviche and lamb small plates. We also would... highly recommend the steak larger plate. It comes with rice, beans and fried plantains which were all phenomenal. The cocktailswere all pretty solid and unique. The service was very attentive and the food came out really fast. I would even say I wish thefood had come out slower so we could have a bit of our drink first (it arrived around our 2nd small plate). We had a wonderfultime and will definitely be back! Read more
