Reviews for Season to Taste in Cambridge, MA

I really enjoyed each course, the ingredients are definitely high quality and the food came out so quick! The only thing that I... wasn't pleased with was the service. My partner and I felt very rushed through the whole meal, and our server didn't put in anyeffort to be particularly friendly or personable. It was all business, a transaction. There was nothing wrong with ourexperience on paper, but I guess I expected to feel more appreciated and special with such a pricey menu. That won't necessarilydeter me from going back though- would recommend overall. Read more

If I could give them six stars I would! Season to Taste is everything a higher end restaurant should be. Although most entrees... orbit the $30 price range, and usually in my reviews I never see a meal as worth that much, here they are. Not only is the foodseasoned perfectly (as one would guess from the name) but the portions are actually really good. This isn't a place you pay $30for two bites of well cooked lobster, you actually get a full delicious and satisfying meal. And when I say things are wellcooked and seasoned, I mean it. I have had steak tartar and lobster many times, and I hated them every time, thought they wereabsolutely disgusting. My boyfriend got the steak tartar appetizer and the lobster entree and I tried both, and I loved them! They were so flavorful and the textures were perfect. The pork belly appetizer and blue fish entree I got were wonderful, eachwith an amazing kaleidoscope of flavors. I absolutely recommend this place, I'd try anything on their menu. Read more

Edited to add: After seeing this review, the owner of the restaurant reached out to have a conversation with me and address the... issue. He walked me through Season to Taste's allergen protocols and processes in the kitchen and is working to betterunderstand how cross contamination might have occurred that night. I really appreciate Robert's diligence and sincereapology/concern. He also comped our meal. Thanks, Robert! x posted to yelp We really wanted to love this place and make it ourroutine date night spot after coming here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The outdoor seating, easy parking, and qualityof the food had us really excited to come back! However, we ordered dessert to share and after one bite of the flourlesschocolate cake, my partner immediately started to swell up. She has a nut allergy, and although there were purportedly no nutsin the cake, she spent the rest of the night incredibly ill. Sparing the details, she was close to needing an ER. There areitems with whole hazelnuts on the menu, so we think that there was enough cross contamination to elicit a severe allergicreaction. Typically shared kitchens are not an issue when we dine out. When I called the restaurant that night (left a VM) andseveral times the day after, no one picked up. I called from a different number and got some guy on the line who read me aningredient list (no nuts) which leads me to believe that cross contamination was the issue here. “Sorry about that” was theextent of the apology we received. 3 weeks later, some tertiary signs of the allergic reaction have only just healed. It endedup being a terrible night, but there were some highlights: -great appetizers (the bone marrow and crudo stood out) -satisfyingportions -diligent service -excellent bottle from ovum, one of our fave wine producers If you have no allergies, try this placeout. We won’t be risking it again. Read more

Absolutely delicious from the starters to the wine to the entree. The tuna tartare was a total flavor explosion. We were stuffed... so haven’t tried the desserts yet (got them to go) but they look great! Pictured: rib eye with blue cheese butter, potatocake, greens. Read more

I loved these French-inspired American dishes. Foie Gras + French Toast was the most bizarre but compatible surprise out of all... the dishes we ordered! I would admit that their strength is in the appetizers. Unfortunately, the pasta main dish and applecrisp dessert did not meet the high expectations that the appetizers started us off with; I would enjoy it more if these disheshad the same creativity and uniqueness! Went for an anniversary dinner, got 2 appetizers and 2 entrées for 2 people and we were both full at the end. The appetizers... were pretty small in portion for the price tag, but the Parisian gnocchi tasted good. The entrées are normal portion; roastedduck was excellent but the stuffed squash needed more sauce for the tasteless grains. The outdoor seating is pretty cute and isprobably the best it gets for Boston winter, just be sure to wear warm pants as the heat lamp can only heat your upper body. Theservers were very nice too. We ate inside and all the tables are separated by curtains and have an air filter going. We went for our anniversary so we went... all out: the bone marrow app was fantastic but our favorite was the fried quail over polenta. We got the seared duck breast andbrisket entrees and both were amazing and much bigger portions than we were expecting and the chocolate tart for dessert was sorich. The staff were friendly and accommodating. This will definitely be our anniversary spot going forward and I wouldsuggest it for anyone looking for a special night out. Read more

Compliments to the chef for creating an amazing menu and ambience. We had our anniversary dinner here and chose to sit outside... on the little private nook in the patio due to Covid, we were a bit skeptical of the cold (Dec 29 in Boston) but the heated lampdid the trick and the curtain really helped keep the heat in. Very very cozy. We absolutely loved the wine and the list ispretty extensive. We had the gnocchi, the bone marrow, roasted carrots for starters. The carrots and marrow were excellent andthe gnocchi was delish. The maitake mushrooms in the gnocchi were incredibly delicious. For the main course my husband had thebraised short ribs and I got the mahi mahi. I loved loved the mahi mahi. My husband thought the ribs were delicious, but a tadunder seasoned. Our dessert was such a delicious ???? one, we had buttermilk panna Cotta with raspberry coulis and pistachios.Yum-yum. Plating was really great and you could see that the chef put his heart into cooking the dishes. Our server Paulina wasreally very sweet. Recommend this place! Read more
