After wandering around on the MIT campus, we went to the Tatte Bakery & Cafe on third street. We were greeted by a friendly lady... from behind the counter. From the large selection of tarts and tartinnes and other options we chose the tomato soup, the grilledcheese sandwich, a blueberry scone, a chocolate mousse and a deliciously grilled peach cheese cream tartinne. All this for afair price in a nice environment (some people were chatting, others were reading books and still others were just gazing at thepeople passing in the street). We?ll certainly go back! We were very excited about this cafe bc there were so many friends that recommended it; however, it turns out to be a... disappointment. The pistachio croissant was crunchy rather than crispy. The mixed nuts tart has a weird taste for the buttoncaramel. The cappuccino was?meh. We also ordered the espresso mocha mousse which only get the chocolate taste without anyespresso flavor. Read more
Tldr: I cannot stop thinking about this place. Ive been to many cafes and this has to be top 3. Long review: Every thing we... ordered hit the perfect middle. Not too hot, not too cold, not too small, not too large, not too sweet, not too bland,everything was JUST RIGHT! The flavors were amazing, great portions. From the pastries and dessert to the breakfast dishes tothe drinks. The food and beverages were spectacular. The location is decently small. And word has gotten around that this placeis spectacular so seating is pretty limited. We had to wait around for people to leave so we could sit to eat brunch. Well worthit though. It's mostly large tables and we ended up having wonderful conversations with strangers while enjoying the food. Read more
Tatte is a place where you feel home. This french, Italian, middle eastern inspired concept servers great hospitality. The food... was very tasty and very close to it's original across the ocean. If you are italian try the double espresso it is maybe one ofthe best alternatives away from home ;) lemonade was refreshing. This venture is very close to Kendall Square. Very nice self service cafe. They have a wide variety of European and Mediterranean dishes, seems like there is a lot of Israeli... influences on the menu. Healthy food and good portions, the service over the counter was great as well. Read more
