Went here with one other person we each ordered a cheese steak mine was supposed to be a large with fried onions and mushrooms... with beach fries added (menu states you can do this for an additional $2) his was a regular cheese steak with pickles and mayo.We get our food and he had a regular with my toppings and I got a large with his toppings also I was given a side of fries asopposed to swapping the chips for fries which added an additional $3 I wouldn't normally leave reviews but this seems like thesort of thing people would like to be aware of. Love going to Grotto's for their yummy pizza! Discovered their delicious boli with spinach and cheese. Will definitely order... that and the pizza again next time. Their antipasto is wonderful as well. Unfortunately, the service was a little slow. Therestaurant wasn't crowded and saw our waitress talking to another employee as we were waiting for her to come over to our tablea couple of times. My boyfriend is from the area. I am not. I love pizza and saw this location. He said it isn't that good. The next day he said... screw it and I ordered a pizza. It was ready a few mins before it was supposed it to be. We stopped and got some drinks on theway to my (semi) truck. It was still hot and I ate me some slices and said it's great. Had an unfortunate experience today. Arrived at 12:30 & were seated at a bar table; however, we received no service so at 1pm we... walked up to the bar in attempt to get service. Still didn?t get beers until 10 minutes after that and menus even later. At nofault to the solo bartender handling the whole room. Management didn?t decide to join in to help her until after 1pm. Ordered acheesesteak with everything on it and, well just look at the picture haha. Couldn?t get an alternative order in until 2:15. Notthe greatest experience for a Sports Bar on game day. Even our beer mugs, while clean (fresh out of the dishwasher), are HOT.Come & get you hot beer on game day. #winning Read more
I don't know a single person who visits the Deleware/ Ocean City Beach area and does not stop at Grotto's at least once. It is a... MUST! Their cheese is so fantastic, I don't even mind the sauce (usually we get light or no sauce). It all just works so well.We also got the bruschetta- and added the balsamic vinegar. This was a shocking pleasant experience for a pizza chain restaurant! On our way down to the Delaware state fair/Nelly concert... we decided to grab a quick simple bite to eat. The service was better than some high end restaurants & the slices & chickentenders were surprisingly very good. If in the area I'd definitely try out full blown meals here as the service was A+. Nice Pizza restaurant with a unique taste. We had the Loaded Sidewinder appetizer, Large Pizza and Gelato for desert. This... particular location has a military themed dining room with Air Forcd photos on the walls. Prices were good and the server wasgood. The downside was the experience when we arrived. No one to greet us and we had to find someone at the pickup counter toseat us. No greeter. Good place to relax and enjoy dinner. Read more
I just happened to stop here as I was traveling. The service was awesome. My server didn't know much about drinks so she got the... bartender to come over to my table to tell me a little more. I thought that was pretty cool. The bartender was sweet and explainsome of the drinks on the menu. My server took my order, food came out hot and pretty quick. I enjoy was personal pizza withgreen peppers and onions..it was delicious! Overall great experience, attentive and patient staff. I would return! Read more
