We drove a bit over 90 mins to get to the Schoolhouse. It's a busy place so be sure to make reservations. The waitress told us... they had a lot of regulars. The food was very good and there was a lot of it. You picked your meat and the sides come out familystyle. They have a set pick of sides. The menu was of course written on the chalkboard. They also have a general store on theproperty and several very hungry goats. You can buy some food for 25¢. They're so cute. We would definitely go back whenwe're in the area again. Read more

Loved it. Food was good and plentiful. You order main dish from the blackboard, and the plentiful sides are brought to table... family style. The staff is very friendly. Great historic environment in a large park-like environment, beautiful pasture areafor goats and a country store which also has some antiques. Loved it. Nice place to visit on a beautiful autumn dayespecially. We will be back. Read more

Was a nice place, good atmosphere wonderful family. Food was reasonably priced family style meal. All you can eat sides.... Definitely to much food for just 2 of us. My only issue was if you require a low sodium diet this is your place. I personallylike my food seasoned more but they have salt and pepper on table. Fries chicken was ok hot and fresh like I said I think itneeded more seasoning. Willing to go back and try something else. Very busy place corn bread was great. General store has a lotof antique stuff but the goats were worth petting and feeding Read more

It was nice. Outside could use a sprucing up. Food was good. They were out of chicken livers, so I got the catfish instead. It... was greasy but good. Boyfriend got the country fried steak. He liked it. They were out of peanut butter pie, so we went todairy queen afterwards. We will be back. Read more

We were visiting from Arizona. Our friend suggested the Schoolhouse. The building is an old 1860's schoolhouse that's been... renovated into a restaurant. It is a fairly small place... about 13 tables. The fare is down home country meals. Each personorders their own entree, and all the sides are shared family style. The normal sides include a salad with their house dressing,a delicious and crisp coleslaw, cornbread, creamy mashed potatoes with delicious gravy, corn, and green beans. The sides comeout in small bowls, but don't worry, they have unlimited refills. Service was great. They have very limited hours andreservations are very much recommended. They have special sides, drink specials, and delicious desserts. I had the lemonmeringue pie. I had the 4 piece mixed fried chicken, my husband had the fried butterfly shrimp, and our friend had the bakedcrumb cod. Everything was fabulous. Unfortunately they didn't have any vegetarian or vegan entrees. Read more
