Stopped in for lunch today to check the place out and loved it. The staff are very friendly, actively engaged with the... customers, and seemed like they were genuinely happy to be there. The food was excellent as well. The menu had quite a fewoptions, everything was fresh cooked, the fries were hot, the burger was cooked perfectly, and everything tasted great. I'lldefinitely be back. Fantastic burgers! Tastes like a family cookout...but bigger and better. SUPER friendly staff. Came in with about 15 of us and... it didn't phase the cook. Go eat here. And they have ice cream! Read more

"Best Burger in the City and surrounding area" I wanted a good homemade style burger. I googled local joints and Big Ray's came... up with a high rating, near 5 stars. That high of a rating deserves an opportunity to feed me. I was not disappointed at all inanyway. The burger was way better than I thought it could be. I was like, "Holy Moly, this burger is sooo good!". I believe Isaid this phrase multiply times. It's all fresh food, with nothing frozen. So good. that's all I can say. The burger, and hotdog, were extremely excellent. I don't usually praise food this much, but I would be a liar if I didn't. The burger isdefinitely the best burger in the city and surrounding area. I can't recommend Big Ray's enough. The staff are very nice anddown to earth. I had a good short conversation with the nice lady working the counter. Go there, eat there. You will not bedisappointed. Absolutely phenomenal! First off- the lady who helped us was amazing and such a sweetheart. The cooks did an excellent job even... tho they were swamped. Now for the best part... The food. Everything we had was literally the best ever. Fresh not frozen, handmade burgers, fresh fries, fresh sauces. Everything. Mac n Cheese was best I ever had. We are 45 min from here but wellworth it. Prices are good especially for what ya get! Will be back for sure! Read more

Had the black and blue burger. It was excellent. The burgers are hand formed and the fries are hand cut. The buns are soft with... just a bit of chew to the crust. The size of the burger was a good size. Overall the value for the cost is great. I will be backagain and look forward to trying more. Read more

Stopped in today for the first time and was immediately greeted by several employees! The vast menu was displayed on the huge... blackboard wall, and also on the counter. Many selections of burgers, hot dogs , wings and chicken fingers and french frybaskets with good stuff added to them, like chili, cheese and crab. "Holy cow, what do I order", I thought to myself. I settledfor the Mac and cheese burger combo with fries and a soft drink. My lady chose the mushroom and swiss burger and a water. Herburger was tasty and topped with sauteed mushrooms and swiss cheese with steak sauce added, and my tasty burger was topped withMac and cheese with bacon. Let me tell you, they were great! The staff again was very friendly and accommodating to anything youcould need. It is a nice open restaurant, with roomy handicap accessible restrooms, and a huge outside seating area as well.Good prices, great food, great service. Highly recommended. You might just see us there.Oh, did I mention the French fries?Delicious! Read more

After reading several recent reviews, I decided that Big Ray's was a must try kinda place ... mistake! Reviewers were correct... in that you are promptly greeted by friendly staff upon entering this quaint little establishment, but that's the majority ofthe positive comments that I have got for this evenings dinner. Ordered the Mac 'n Cheese Burger, Rodeo Fries, and a hotdogw/mustard & chili (normally order with mustard, chili, & slaw but Big Ray's does not have coleslaw). Let's start with the Mac'n Cheese Burger which wasn't horrible, but I'm a cheeseaholic and the only cheese was from the Mac 'n Cheese itself, which wasa bit lite for me. Rodeo Fries are made with skin on potatoes (which I like) drizzled with cheese, bbq sauce, & bacon. It'snot that they were bad, they just needed more cheese and a BBQ sauce that wasn't quite as sweet. Then there's the hotdog, whichwas beyond disappointing and almost to the point of asking for a refund. Although I can deal with a restaurant not having apreferred topping, what I CAN NOT tolerate is using canned chili w/beans as a hotdog topping ... in fact, I believe it's aCardinal Sin! I know times are tough right now and while I try to patronize small, local restaurants with tasty cuisine when Ihave the chance, Big Ray's simply falls short imho. If you're going to call yourself a 'Burger & Dogs' kinda restaurant, thenyou need to expand your hotdog bun offerings to include grilled or "New England" style buns, broaden your toppings list, andabsolutely stop using canned chili w/beans as a hotdog topping! I'd also prefer to see a Coca-Cola fountain machine as opposedto what you offer, but that's just a personal preference. But good luck to you guys. Read more
