I was going home after flying into Phoenix and stopped for breakfast at Gabriela's! The young lady was very friendly (... commenting on my Mini Cooper). I got my burrito and took a few bites before leaving, she popped in the window again and I gaveher a thumbs up and told her how yummy it was and I would be back! She smiled, thanked me and wished me a good day! What a sweetperson! Love, love, love my first impression of Gabriela's!???? Read more

This restaurant is clean and organized for efficient counter service. I ordered a veggie burrito and was given complementary... chips and salsa right as I sat down at a table. It took about 10 minutes for the burrito, which was large and included atortilla that was obviously of the home-made variety. The filling had a good combination of flavors. I would not hesitate tostop here again on my way between Flagstaff and the Phoenix area. Read more

+JMJ Wednesday 14 September 2022 First visit to this restaurant. Very friendly staff. Cheryl took my order after introducing me... to their ordering protocol. They do have signs, but I walked past all of them. ???? The menu is hughly extensive. I selected abrunch item: Carne Asada con huevos (beef chunks topped with 2 eggs). As can be seen by my photos the meal was magnificentlypresented, very hot and came with Chips, corn tortillas, and all levels of heat salsa! Wow! And, the attendant brewed a freshpot of cofee. ???? The coffee was perfect for my taste: not too weak nor too strong. Meal presentation was a mouth watering eyefull with servings of the Carne Asada, Spanish rice and refried beans enough for 2 to 3 people (I was solo.) For me, everythingwas seasoned just right. No need to add additional seasonings. Except, just a dab of the hottest salsa was placed on the carne.Delicious but it did make me cough which usually happens with hot seasonings. And, that is not a bad thing for me. Somethingelse about this visit was the background music. All in Spanish, which set the South of the Border ambience. I had arrived justafter 1040 am and found a steady flow of customers (some regulars by the exchange of conversations between the staff andcustomers). But, there wasn't hectic energy even though there was only one person taking orders and another working the drivethru window. I would highly recommend a visit. The menu is quite extensive and, as mentioned by the owner who stopped by mytable, there are even special dietary selections. Gluten free too! Great restaurant for a delicious meal. Blessings! Loved this place! Great food! all gourmet including homemade salsa and chips. We will be back. They have a vegan and veggie... menu. We always stop off the highway here for gas but we had never been to Gabriela?s. It will be the stop from now on. Wonderful restaurant with super family friendly staff. Don?t be fooled that it is attached to a dairy queen, it ishole-in-the-wall and high quality!! Read more

Update: Gave Gabriela's another try, it has been a while. Once again really over priced, paid $19 and some change for a ASADA... burrito and 2 ASADA (street) tacos. The problem was when I went to eat, the meat was so white I thought they mistakenly gave mepork. After taking a bite, no I think it was beef, so not sure how long it had been sitting in water(?) to keep it moist. Whilemy burrito was packed with meat my tacos were mostly onions. The positive was when I asked for hot sauce the cashier asked if Iwas sure, and yes the hot sauce is hot and good! As for the rest, I was really disappointed and think everything was way overpriced. I really wanted to like this place and I try to support small businesses but they really need to up their game because Iwon't be back. I should have just went to Taco Bell next door because the quality is the same for 1/2 the price. So my original3.5 star review dropped to 2 stars because I really hope my ASADA meal was actually beef. Original Review: mixed reactions withthis place. First and foremost the food is ok. Now the mixed part, they have restaurant level pricing in a fast food typeatmosphere. Prices are a bit high for eating on paper plates, giving order at register, etc... They either need to go all outrestaurant or lower their prices according, 3 star food, 1 star restaurant with 1 star pricing, my average is at 3 stars, sobumped it up to 3.5 for decent food. Pretty good breakfast burritos. Stopped here on the way from Phx to flag. They have lots of good options. They have a drive... thru, but all you to pull to a spot while they make it and bring it out to you when it?s ready. Took about 10 minutes for themto bring it out, so not too bad. Read more
