I was in the North Island Hospital for ten days. My husband joined me after a week and I begged him to pick up something tasty... for me to eat. I specifically asked for pakoras. He went to the Campbell River Spice Hut. He was suspicious about the quality ofthe food based on the decor, which he described as "cheap cafeteria", but the serving staff were kind so he ordered dine-in forhimself, planning to bring me some afterwards. His meal came promptly but it was inedible. "An abomination," he described thetasteless, rubbery butter chicken. He brought me a small serving of the pakoras which were unrecognizable: the consistency ofhay bales, they were dry and chewy with no recognizable spices. Neither of us had eaten properly for days and we were incapableof consuming this food. He also ordered a dessert but it smelled and looked awful, and the tiniest sampling resulted in usthrowing that out as well. I almost wept with disappointment. Thirty dollars wasted and our spirits were broken. Avoid at allcosts. Read more

What a joke this place is, over half an hour late from what we were told for pick up, get home to find out that two of the over... priced dishes don't even come with rice, apparently you have to pay extra for that. Now wait for rice to cook at home, whileeverything else gets cold. First and only time we will be ordering from this place.???????? Read more

Finding an Indian Vegetarian food was kind of hard until I get to know about spice hut Indian cuisine?? the food is so delicious... and cooked exactly with typical Indian spices. Its now our go to place, kind of every/twice a week. The pricing is worthtoo! Also, the dine-in is extra nice and well maintained. The staff is very polite, friendly and cooperative. ???? Read more

I?ve eaten here 8 times now, hoping for something better, but the average of my experience is still only 1. No drink menu,... appetizers took 30 minutes, food 60 min, atmosphere is semi professional. They had a video playing about Mexico in thebackground. I?ve travelled to India multiple times, food is not up to an authentic standard. I have seen the quality drop overtime. This spells the end for a restaurant when you start to compromise quality. The logo is repurposed from a Mexicanrestaurant. The white staff don?t know anything about Indian cuisine. I witnessed Indian people asking about tiffin service andthe staff having no idea what that is. The white staff could only recommend butter chicken. They had homeless people hanging outin the restaurant like it was a soup kitchen. You got work to do Syed, you are doing a disservice to the community by providingsuch a low quality standard. The passion if it was ever there is gone. Read more

The food and atmosphere was great; I had expected a much smaller, fast casual style restaurant but it turned out bigger and... better. The service was friendly, and eager to ensure that she could cater to my dietary needs. Loved the Chana curry. Read more
