A B-E-A-uuuuuutiful store! Ambience is amazing and really sets you into an island vibe! Spoke with owner D after browsing around... the store. There are tons of perfect gift ideas laying around the shop. We came in on a Friday where doubles were buy 3 get 1free for 20$ (tax included), they were delicious and had a great sweetness with the tamarind sauce mixed in. The spices weredefinitely present but I could tell that some flavours were toned down to match the demographic around the store. I would returnhere again if I pass through the town! Doubles made fresh, and tasted amazing. I have to say, most Trini or Guyanese restaurantsor shops are quite messy. At this location?everything was spotless and clean. 5/5 this is the best if not only Caribbean spot in Trent Hills. The spicy curried goat roti is phenomenal, not overpowering just... the right amount of spice. The curried chicken roti is cooked to perfection and for dessert the mango chow is perfect; light anda bit of spice to counter the sweetness of the mango. Read more
I stopped in here yesterday just before closing and got the warmest welcome. I took home the goat roti to enjoy with my mom.... There was plenty for both of us. It was delicious with tender meat and layers of flavour. The roti is fresh and one of the bestI've ever had. I was happy to hear they are expanding their hours. An absolute must if you love roti or jerk chicken!! Everything is delicious! I regularly get the Pholourie (it?s amazing!) and... jerk chicken dinner (also amazing) but have tried the goat roti and various desserts as well...everything is very authentic!! Love it there, food was awesome! I got doubles and pholouri, I'm excited to go back. Seems that the fans of D's food shack want... more hours, as the are only friday- Sunday 11-2, which would be there only "negative" for accessibility. As a vegan, Iobviously prefer an all vegan menu, but was happy to have some delicious options available - next time I'll be trying theirveggie roti! I'd love to see other vegan options available, even just to be able to buy the roti by itself and take home - rotiis life. If you're in Campbellford around those hours, be sure to check em out ! Stopped in for lunch with a couple coworkers last week, on first impression the store is very clean and welcoming, owner/staff... are very friendly. However unfortunately the food was disappointing, we had the jerk chicken dinner, jerk pork dinner, roti anddoubles. The portion sizes especially for being a 'dinner' & the price is extremely small, they are also advertised to come withpeas & rice instead we got a tasteless fried rice? with frozen green peas, corn and carrots NOT authentic peas and rice.Flavoring on the chicken/pork was good - we ordered them to be spicy and was mild at best so make sure to ask for lots of hotsauce on side if you prefer hot/spicy. Coleslaw was good. Roti wasn't horrible, seasoning was inconsistent and expensive.Doubles were good but expensive. Coworker got an ice coffee drink, once back to the office realized it was made with expiredcream/milk as it had curled on top. Overall probably won't be returning, prices are to expensive portions to small & to manyinconsistencies. Read more
