The food wasn't all that great! The steak tips were tough and they were supposed to be well done but they were mid-rare. ... Probably couldn't have eaten them if they were well done. A local chain of steak houses and this restaurant in Campbellsville was just OK! Not even close to a Texas Roadhouse. They... serve beer and wine with not much of a selection. The steaks we ordered came in the right temp but lacked flavor. The breadwas warm but not something to write about. Service was better than the food but nothing out of the ordinary. In a small townwith not many options, this is a decent eatery. Don't go here expecting a eat an amazing steak. You will not end up walkingout of the restaurant hungry... that's for sure. We?ve dined at Colton?s 3 times and never had a great experience. The wait is typically long, the service has been slow every... time we?ve been there, and the food is mediocre at best. The first time we ate there, we waited two hours to be seated becausethey were under staffed. The second time we went, it was two of us and it took 20 mins to get a drink and over an hour and ahalf to get food. We know that staffing is an issue so we gave them one last visit?the wait wasn?t as long because we wentafter the rush cleared, the service was better but one person in our party ordered the bacon wrapped filet and felt like thebacon might have been bad?he wound up spending the entire night and next day in bed very sick. We were told there would be a 10-15 minute wait. After about 30 minutes we realized that they skipped over our party of 3... multiple times. When we brought it to the attention of the hostess they immediately seated us. as we walked to our table thefloor was littered with used napkins and food. It looked as if they had not cleaned up all day. The wait for our drink order tobe taken was too lengthy for my liking and when we finally got our drinks there was something floating in my husband's water.When this was brought to the waitress' attention she apologized and took it away. She came back but forgot to bring his newwater. Had we not skipped lunch and already waited such a long time we would have definitely left. However, we stayed andordered our food. Two of us ordered house salads with our entrees and those were brought out quickly. Unfortunately there was somuch dressing on the salads you couldn't really taste the salad. Our remaining food was actually good and cooked properly. Theportions were generous. I realize that so many establishments are short staffed right now, but they were not crowded at all andI strongly feel that there should have been more effort put into the cleanliness of the area in which we were seated. The food was exceptional and the service was OUTSTANDING! The ENTIRE team was an absolute pleasure. Customer Service has been... long gone at most places but not here. Would give 10 stars if I could.
