This is a great family owned and operated business. It is so scenically located in beautiful Perry County near Rocky Point on... the Ohio River. The owners are very friendly and knowledgable and will help you select a great local wine. You do not need to bean expert to come here they will help you. You can enjoy a drink on their porch high above the river. Read more

Visiting Blue Heron Vineyards & Winery was one of the most memorable experiences of our fall travels this year. The reviews we... had read, both on Harvest Host and Google, were impressive, but as Google maps led us up a winding gravel sideroad, we startedwondering if we had made the right decision by veering off from our itinerary's main route. Within a minute of arriving to ourdestination, our doubts were fully dispelled! Blue Heron's setting is almost magical, with spectacular views of the Ohio Riverand the forested, hilly surroundings. The winery?s premises, including its tasting room and ?The Snug? (inspired by Britishpubs? small and comfortable drinking rooms), are most charming and welcoming. We enjoyed their full-bodied reds and their crispwhites. Owners Lynn and Gary were incredibly gracious hosts; we received from Lynn a fascinating account of the winery?shistorical background, and from Gary a tour of their property, including a ride to what is possibly the largest Celtic Crosscarving in the world, which they commissioned local artist Greg Harris to sculpt from a massive granite stone?a marvel in an ofitself. We are already planning to pay a longer visit to Blue Heron next time we are in the area! Read more

All the other reviews are right- this place is a must-stop if you find yourself in the area. They have amazing views, a relaxing... atmosphere, very friendly and helpful owners, the world?s largest Celtic cross, cabins to stay in, and to top it all off theyhave some of they best wine you?ll be lucky enough to stumble across. I loved that they had a larger selection of dry wines, asmost wineries pack all of their wines full of overbearing and unnecessary sugar that covers up the taste of the grapes. We metone of the owners, Gary, and he was a fantastic host and bartender. Don?t miss out on driving up here and scoring a few bottlesof amazing wine, and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Ohio River! Read more

This winery is a MUST! We traveled up from TN because this winery had great reviews and for good reason. Picture perfect winery... overlooking the Ohio River. The tasting room is so full of history and stories about the owners and their family. Beautifulwines for everyone?s palette. We picked up a nice variety of bottles to bring home with us. We couldn?t just pick one. They hadlive music, great food, and the weather was just perfect! And the owners?.Gary and Lynn, we met them and they were fantastic! You can tell Gary?s passion for the craft of wine making. He sat down with us and not only gave us complimentary wine tastingsand described his wines but shared so many interesting stories about himself, his family, life and heritage. I love how muchthey talk about their children and their families. They were very personable and friendly which made the experience that muchmore enjoyable. We didn?t get to stay in their Bed and Breakfast because it was a short decided trip and booked but I hope to goback and stay there. Don?t miss this winery. It is worth getting off the beaten path into this beautiful area of Indiana. I?m soglad we spent the day here. Don?t miss the Celtic cross too. Read more
