We have an awesome friend visiting and went sight-seeing. We didn't plan to eat at Castaways but, there were a surprising... number of restaurants that were closed. It turned out to be fortuitous since we loved everything about it. The food was greatand everyone enjoyed their respective meals. It was a very hot day so we started with some delicious cocktails. I don't know ifMeghan is an owner or an employee but, she was working her rear off. She was making drinks, taking food orders and deliveringthem and, in spite of the heat she took the time to speak with us, make recommendations (and jokes), and, took wonderful careof us. I highly recommend eating here if you get the chance. Read more

5 star for the food. The filet mignon in blue cheese was excellent. Wild Alaskan salmon was tasty, my only complaint was the... filet was way too small 6 oz compared to probably a big pile of rice that was at least double the size at 44 usd ++. But Ihave to say the cooking skill is worth a visit. The Dungeness crab cocktail was quite straightforward, nothing too memorable. Read more

Castaways in Cannon Beach is a regular stop when we spend a few days decompressing at the coast. One needs to be alert and... ready to book a reservation the minute they open, because they fill up fast and only take a certain number per night. However:We have had some of the best meals in this cozy unassuming restaurant, and can always count on the chef and owner to visit ourtable as the evening winds down. Spendy? Maybe. We treat ourselves to this experience every chance we get. Excellent! Read more

Best meal on the coast! Menu changes often, but the seafood pasta and seared ahi were delicious! Bartender made me a wonderful... Negroni! Chocolate silk pie for dessert was the icing on the cake, not to mention the lovely chat with the chef at theconclusion of the meal. Will be back! Read more

Nicely casual restaurant with wonderful food. The prices here are a bit higher than elsewhere in town, and are certainly worth... it. The lobster bisque tasted heavenly. Sadly there were no pieces of lobster in the soup, but it was exquisite nonetheless. The aoli sauce that came with the potato appetizer was spiced just right. I had the filet mignon with the bleu cheese sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked, the silky smooth mashed potatoes accompanying were a nice match. The vegetables as well werecooked to just the right tenderness. My only change would be to concentrate on just 2 or 3 vegetables instead of dicing so manyvarieties together. My wife had the seafood pasta. The portions of seafood included were generous. Included were sweet softscallops, large pieces of crab and shrimp. The pasta was radiatore which held the sauce well. Half of the meal was happilyplaced in a box to be eaten later. For dessert we shared a fried banana, macadamia nut, cocunut and vanilla ice creamconcoction drizzled with chocolate and caramel. Yum! Get a reservation to make sure that you can get in. A very nice place tosplurge (a bit). Read more
