Great restaurant. The food taste and smells like original Italian food. Sauce is fresh, tasty and not spicy. Breads are good.... The antipasto was excellent and enough for 4 adults. What an amazing dinning experience! The food was superb in flavors! Everything was cooked to perfection from the Halibut to the... vegetables. The location was breathtaking and the windy conditions made it even more spectacular. With all the rustling treesand bushes, I almost felt like I was in Italy. The service was also pretty spot on! I spent many years overseas working for the military, Germany, Italy etc. and Gennaro's is about as authentic as you can get.... The portions were perfect and the food itself was outstanding. A couple sitting next to us ordered pizza and it looked amazingas well. I ordered the Chicken Florentine and my wife had the Halibut special (quite pricey) which included handmade crabravioli and shrimp. Both meals were exceptional and her fish was cooked to perfection. The bread and salads which came with themeals was delicious and fresh. Everything was presented perfectly. I believe we may have found our new favorite restaurant herein the New Braunfels area. The best Italian food around. With a great garden to sit and eat with an ambiance of the Italian country side. With fresh cheese... and cream sauces you are able to tell the quality of what is happening in the kitchen. To start with garlic knots and breadwith olive oil. The garlic knots were warm and amazing. The bread was fresh and was a great start. We followed with amazingcrab cakes. Loaded with crab, you would be hard pressed to find filler. The sauce drizzled over was just the right amount tobring the dish together. Finally we finished with the chicken rosemary ravioli which was amazing. OMG!! One of THE BEST Italian Restaurants we’ve ever dined at and we Dine out a lot!! Their tag line says Authentic Italian... Cuisine and that is ???? true! Very authentic Italian cuisine & very fresh ingredients down to the cold crisp Salad. AND thenthere’s the Bread that’s so warm & soft on the inside with a nice crispy crust dipped into the perfect dipping Italian/Garlic olive oil! Very nice wine list with full bottles available. Our server, Phillip was very attentive & suggested theSpecial of the day, Red Snapper. He was spot on with this decadent dish. Went on last day of my stay in area. Wish I had found earlier, would have gone again! Really good food and service. Had a 30... minute wait but worth it. Very popular with good reason. Outside dining was quite enjoyable and added to night. Had lasagne andchicken with pasta, both ample and tasty. Make time to visit. Read more
